Hello,

I am currently a PR in Canada since mid-2017. I wish to sponsor my spouse from India for her PR process. She is already having a tourist visa and keeps visiting me. She does not plan to work here as she already has a start-up business which she manages. I would like to understand the following-
  • How to go about the process
  • Is it online or hardcopy submission
  • What is preferred inland or outland application
Thank you

What do you mean by start up business? Hopefully this means in her home country.

Also I assume you got married sometime after you became a PR in 2017?

Yes she has one in her home country but she has clients here as well which she would explore once she gets her PR.

Yes, I got married in Jan 2018

Just make sure she doesn't "explore" or do business with any Canadian clients while here as a visitor. She would at least need an Open Work Permit to start any work efforts inside Canada.

To answer your questions:
1. Application package and guide is here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...mily-sponsorship/spouse-partner-children.html
2. Hardcopy submission only
3. With inland you get OWP after 3-4 months, but are advised not to leave the country during processing (12 months).
With outland there is no OWP, but can come and go from Canada (on TRV) with no risk to application

If she intends to travel to and from India to manage her business during the process, outland would be the better choice

So in case of hardcopy submission, the submission of documents would be done in india?

The entire application package has to be mailed to the Mississauga visa office.
