Hi,
I married a Chinese girl in China two years ago and had a baby. I also sponsoring her to Canada but the case is very slow and not finished yet.
The problem is that I want to divorce with her, too many things not going well, I know I can simply cancel the case but how can I divorce her while I'm in Canada and she is in China? I know maybe better to ask a lawyer but want to take a chance to have some general information here.

Thanks in advance.

If you are even considering a divorce, immediately, without ANY delay, contact IRCC and stop the sponsorship application. You do not want to get stuck with that issue hanging over your head. If your spouse manages to land, you are stuck with the sponsorship responsibility whether you like it or not. Then, you can figure out what to do with the actual divorce process. This is not a time to procrastinate, seriously...

Yes, if your wife lands and becomes a PR and goes on welfare in the first 3 years then You pay it all back to the government. Don't give her the chance to do that.
