Hi, I will be making first land in Canada middle of March. I have a family aquintance and he lives in Toronto. And another friend who has a home in Canada( Vancouver) but is living temporarily in California. I am headed to an undecided town in Alberta. I will probably have to make Vancouver my POE though.

I have few questions about giving address for PR card at POE. I won't have any permanent address of me at that time, just hotel addresses.

The person in Toronto hardly knows me and his family knows my family back home. Plus his home will be very far from my residence. And my friend from Vancouver is likely to be present in his Canada address after 3 months but is not guaranteed. Also his present status is residing in America ( he is dual US- Canada) citizen.

I am confused whose address to give for a sensitive document like PR, from practical and legal standpoints. And if I do not give any address at time of landing. What is procedure of receiving PR card after that? Can I request to collect card from their offices?

Thank you

If you give the address of a Canadian residence that is not your own then I would only do so if you fully trust the person who will be receiving your card and able and willing to forward it to you after it is processed (approx. 61 days from landing date).

If you do not have an address to give at the time of landing, I believe that you would have 6 months to contact CIC to give them your address but they will not begin processing your PR card until you provide an address. Once processed it will be mailed to the address you provided.

Thanks for reply mate.
I think I will better put my own address then.

Since you already live there can I ask some information to help me?

How much time they took to process your PR card?
And do they check height and eye colour at time of landing?
My height is off by 2 cms in the COPR document , I am wondering if it's too little to bother or should I do something about it.

Sorry, I'm just a Canadian citizen sponsoring my wife for PR. I don't know the answers to those questions.
If you height is only off by only 2cm, just stand up straight lol (I doubt they'll get out a ruler to measure).

Actually they made it short by 2 cms. So I guess I have to crouch a little
