Hello people, hope everyone is fine. Waiting is one of the most difficult thing to do, it's even more difficult when there is no set date when one can reach his target, even the bible confirms that, Proverbs 13:12. But when the time finaly come you will not remember all those stress of waiting, I promise you that for sure. I'll be traveling to Canada next week Friday to be precise to meet my lovely wife as my waiting time is over. I wish you guys all the best as you patiently wait for your time, you will get there.

How long did you wait for process to end and were there any additional docs or interview required? Congrats and welcome to Canada.

Good day house & a very happy new year to everyone!

So I got my wife to order notes back in December, 8 to be precise. Then we got this email from them yesterday requesting a consent form... after a month? I just don't get it... why didn't they just request for it after we made the request and they had to wait a whole month! Does that mean now that they will take another month to process it if we finally send in the "consent form"?

This is further to your request under the Access to Information Act, which was received on December 8, 2017, for the following records:

the electronic notes of the immigration or citizenship officer(s) for the immigration file concerning the person sponsored by ............. ...........

We regret to inform you that we are unable to process your request for the following reason:

The consent of the person being sponsored by ............... ................. is required to process your request and allow us to release their information to you.

For your convenience, here is the ATIP consent form: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/form-imm5744.asp

Please, ensure that:

The section A of the consent form indicates the person you are sponsoring’s information, handwritten signature and signature date;

The section C of the consent form indicates your information, (........ ................), as the person authorized.

Note that we will put your request on hold until we receive the requested information from you. If we have not received your reply by February 12, 2018, we will consider the request abandoned and close our file accordingly.

Please reply to this email with the required information, or by mail at the following address:

When you send the request for GCMS you are required to sign consent form. If you did not then unfortunately will not be able to proceed.
We hv similar timeline and i ordered it took about 6 -7weeks to recieve it.
If you need the notes please fill the form and sign your signature on the form.

In case an application is refused at Mississauga due to incomplete document/missing item, does IRCC send the application back to the sponsor or the Principal Applicant?

Is this sponsorship spousal for incomplete document? If yes then the package goes back to the sponsor. With checklist of items to complete and resubmit.
