My daughter got her permanent resident visa last June 1, 2017 without the confirmation of residency. Her current guardian told me (mother) that they never received any email nor text confirming of follow up documents that needed to continue to release the confirmation document.

Was that even possible? , I know that cic would be very cautious about this matter, I'm just confuse that they never issued any details or steps on how to continue finishing the application of confirmation. This is very odd because they issued the visa without the confirmation. Can anyone tells me what to do about this matter?, thank you.

If they issued a visa for her passport they also issued a confirmation of permanent residency, or COPR for short. If that was not received at the same time as her visa then it was lost. If she has not yet landed in Canada to finalize this, it is possible that her COPR has now expired and the process would need to begin again. I would FIRST contact CIC and ask them about issuing a new COPR so your daughter can land in Canada.

Have you contacted IRCC or sent any inquiries in the past 6 months?

What do mean by I have to begin again?, with the whole application process?, including the visa?, my daughter already have the visa. Is there any specific instructions before going to the office? I need to know the proper documents to bring to visit the office. Thanks

If the COPR expired and she didn't use it to land in Canada, you would have to start the process to sponsor her again from scratch, or whatever process she followed to get permanent residency, she would have to start that from scratch.

I don't even know if it expires or not. We didn't received anything. Or not even a text message or an email from the office. So the Guardian who help process all the papers didn't have the idea that there's more aside from the visa.

I don't even know if it expires or not.
It expires one year after the medical exam has been taken or whenever the passport expires, whichever comes sooner.

Do you know any contact number to call
Depends on what VO processed the application. Anyway, Google can certainly help you with the number, you just have to look it up.

The visa will expire on February 2018. So we're still good. I couldn't find any contact number to call the office. It's always an answering machine. Is there any number you know, I need to talk to a person.

You need to use the Webform or email the VO.
