Nuh uh :(. These forms are such a pain... The detailed guide isn't helping at all.
I'm filling out the 5532 now and it says I'm not supposed to leave any gaps for my employment history!? I was a student and worked on and off... I don't even remember the exact dates I started for some of my older jobs. How accurate do I have to be in providing work details? I don't remember my monthly wage for some of the jobs either, especially since I had tips (cash) coming in. Also how do I fill out date section for my current employer? Can I leave it blank? It won't let me write non numerical values...

So I just checked IMM1344E, you should be able to validate these forms leaving the signature section blank as you will sign these by hand after printing them out. There must be something else that it causing the validation to not work. Check the rest of your application carefully to find the real error. When you print out the form, make sure you enter "N/A" on the co-signer signature line.

As far as IMM5532, you need to make an honest effort in figuring out the exact dates. Do you have any tax information that you submitted while working that can give you the dates? It only have to be month/year, so if you have any emails from around the time you started working, or messages you can look through that would give you an idea of when you started/stopped working look through those. You don't have to put exact wages you earned, just give a close estimate of your average monthly earnings. You can either enter the date you go and sign and date all the applications (which should be the day you mail it out) or you can leave it blank and write in by hand "present" since this form doesn't have validation I don't believe.

EDIT: When filling out dates you were unemployed, make sure you write something like this: "Unemployed - *How you supported yourself*"

So for example, if I was unemployed and a student as you gave an example for, I would put something alone the lines of "Unemployed; I was a student and was living on student loans" or "Unemployed; I was a student receiving financial help from my parents/guardians"

Thank you so much for the tip about the work history!

As for co-signer part, we ticked off Part 1-#3 which was why we couldn't validate the thing heh... Derp.

Thank you to everyone who's replied to this thread. We've completed the IMM5532E thanks to you guys :D. One down!

Hello again, so we're just going through the checklist and I was wondering if anyone can provide insight for IMM5533E - Part B (Supporting Documents For Sponsor) #4. Previous Relationships.

It asks: Have you (the sponsor) previously been sponsored yourself for permanent residence?

I'm a naturalized Canadian and immigrated in '97 and I'm pretty sure my father would've sponsored me. Is that correct? I pulled up my immigration paper from my old passport and see my father's name in the 'Accompanying Family Members' section.

You became a PR at the same time as your father, so he did not sponsor you; you were included in his application as a dependent.

Thank you for the clarification! We submitted all the documents today. Best of luck to all those applying and happy holidays!
