Hi Everyone
I need some guidance here.
I am immigrating to Canda with my wife & 2 little pugs.
In CPR my city of destination is mentioned as Calgary however as I am flying with pugs I need to take Lufthansa Airlines which lands in Vancouver rather than Calgary.
Is it okay to enter the country through Vancouver though COD mentioned in CPR is Calgary ??

Are you emigrating through express entry or PNP ? If the latter then as long as you can show intent to continue through to Calgary should be no issue landing in Vancouver .

Plus there are not that many direct international flights into Calgary anyway, plus assume your airline routing/ choice dictated by the pugs travel. So overall no issue likely with Vancouver as initial POE.

Thanks ,
I am immigrating through Express Entry !!!
Would you also know roughly how much time does it take to finish the immigration formalities?
This is because I need to book a flight from Vancouver to Calgary !!
Would you also be able to suggest me some of the pet-friendly airlines in Canada especially for pugs!

I landed in Calgary and immigration formalities took no more than 10 minutes, an acquaintance of mine landed in Vancouver and it was nearly 2 and a half hours for him. So, better to have a minimum of 4 hours between flights.

Alternatively, you can rent a car in Vancouver and drive it to Calgary. It's about 10 hours driving.

It’s fine to do your landing in Vancouver. Your landing is processed at the first point of entry. After that it’s just a flight or drive or whatever to your COD. No worries. It’ll be fine.
