That sounds exciting! Please, what date was your application received by CIC (I think you said January, just wondering if it’s close to beginning or end)?

Wow, they are getting close! (We are Feb 1 applicants.) Anyway, I don’t believe it should be very long at all until they request your passport. Seems like once they start sending stuff like that out you are near the end. I’m really curious because most of the people from 2017 who have been contacted are either using the old application and/or have done up front medicals that are expiring - ours seems to be one of the first ones that did the entire new application package including waiting for medicals to be requested. I was curious if the progress would be documented differently but according to our online account, background check hasn’t even started. So it seems AVO is still AVO regardless of what kind of paperwork they have - therefore it’s anybody’s guess what they are actually up to.January 25
There was one person who got PPR, was a January applicant and said that they weren't able to submit upfront medicals, so it seems you are getting close!Wow, they are getting close! Our timeline is on my profile. Feel free to enter it - I barely get on my computer these days and editing from the phone is a painPlease guys, could you update the spreadsheet? It will be so helpful and will give us an idea of the Files in process at AVO. Thank you.

Found this on cicHello members, my wife's passport with the AVO for visa expires on June 2 2018 which is not a problem coming to Canada but once she comes we have to renew it here in few months and when I check the fee is $250 plus $30 for application form. So my question is, can she renew her passport after AVO issue her visa so we don't have to spend over $250 to renew few months after she landed? Thanks in advance
@Cutie101 i believe those instructions are for someone who has a Canadian passport. @bbccanada’s case is for a Ghanaian passport. I would renew in Ghana, but not hand in my current passport and also ask them not to cancel the old one if that is possible. If they can’t reassure you that can’t leave the old one valid, then you may need to play it safe and not renew until she lands.Found this on cic
Does your passport have a valid visa in it?
If you send a passport for renewal that has a valid visa, tell us on the application form that you want the original passport returned to you and that you still need that visa. If you don’t, the visa could be damaged when the previous passport is cancelled.
