Hi,

I have been accepted onto a 2 year co-op diploma course which starts in Vancouver in October 2018. I have my acceptance letter and I'm just finishing off applying to receive my study visa. What's not clear to me is whether or not I would be able to apply for a post graduate work permit after my studies?

Here is a link to the course and college. http://canadiancollege.com/en/social-media-marketing-program

If I were ineligible to apply for a post graduate permit, what other visa options would I have should I wish to remain in Canada to live and work after my 2 year study period?

Thanks,
Darren

Well it looks like it has a DLI number on the CIC website, so if they grant you a study visa, there is a good chance you will get a PGWP. But remember this is NOT guaranteed. I got a 3 year PGWP from a my 2 year Diploma in IT

Hi

As it is private college, it is unlikely that you will qualify for a PGWP. Also it is generally accepted that the education received from private colleges is sub-standard in comparison to public colleges.

If you continue with this program and can't get a PGWP, you will have a very difficult time taking in Canada to work. You would require a job offer from an employer with a positive LMIA, which is almost impossible to find these days.

I suggest you look for a similar program at a public college where you will definitely qualify for a PGWP.

Yeah, going down the public college route is advisable if you want a PGWP. Good Luck!
