@debbiejosh, thanks for your comment which I really like because we sometimes make mistakes we think is impossible to overcome but nothing is impossible just that it takes pain and patient . My experience with the AVO is that when you have a small issue regarding a document with them do everything you can to clear the air with them before moving to the next step asap.

Advice: TO ALL EXISTING MEMBERS AND THOSE JOINING US PLEASE IF YOU ARE NOT SURE A DOCUMENT IS 200% GENUINE PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT.THERE ARE BAD PEOPLE EVEN FAMILY MEMBERS YOU CAN SEND TO GET YOU A DOCUMENT BUT THEY ARE THOSE GOING TO MESS YOU UP. NOW AVO GETS INFORMATION FROM BANKS, WAEC, AND ALL THE OTHER GOVERNMENT INSTITUTION JUST IN FEWS SECONDS SO WE NEED TO BE VERY CAREFUL. I WENT THROUGH HELL BUT I WORK MY ASS TO OVERCOME THOSE OBSTACLE SO MY WIFE NICK NAME ME" DO IT YOURSELF" BECAUSE SINCE MY LAST EXPERIENCE I NEVER SEND ANYONE TO GET ME ANY DOCUMENT WHEN DOING THINGS. I RATHER GO THERE SLEEP THERE 20 DAYS TO GET IT DONE THAN TO SEND SOMEONE TO SCREW ME UP. THANKS YOU FOR READING.

Hi everyone and for our dear friend denied, I can't imagine how hurt you feel. Not really a pleasant thought and I wish if there is anyway I could help out, I sure will volunteer my service. I tow the line of many forumers, get a very good immigration attorney and pursue your case aggresively. I believe, God will finish the work for you guys. thank you thank you...but they are silly oo..wanting me to be in canada by the 20th of next month becos my medicals will be expiring next month!!...but God has my back!! yaaaaaaay!!!

@babajydo, did they ask you if you can make it by the 20th or they said you have to make it? You see they have to give us the visa at least 3 months prior to the departure so we can organize things or if you are in the middle of some project so you can finish before leaving but they just can't tell you to leave in 30 days like that I think.

On a lighter note, I am January 25th applicant, I got a somewhat good news from avo few hours ago. A lady called me and asked if I could be able to travel before 7th of December. I suppose as my medical expires on the 5th or that 6th. Don't know if I should be happy or sad considering all the news from yesterday. Please I need advice, what is the cheapest fare one can get from lagos to Winnipeg at this point? Desperate times calls for desperate measures.

Hello members, my wife got a call from AVO asking her if she can travel December 09 2017 because her medical expires December 06 2017 but I told my wife to tell them we need at least 6 weeks so they can extend the medical or we redo the medical. Then our background went to we are processing your background. I wish everyone waiting for a good news to hear AVO soon....................

They say i have to make it before the 20th or they will assume that i intend to forfeit it....i dont care...i will be in canada before the 20th..hahahahaha..am leaving everything behind...!!

OMG. Not good. We just got a refusal letter. I have 30 days to make an appeal. Pleeeeeasssse....does anyone have experience with appeals??? Any similar situations??

Application was received in Jan 10, 2017. No change in ECAS/MyCIC since Feb. Sent some supporting docs in September (2017 travel docs/pics). Sent an email to the Minister of Immigration a couple weeks ago like many others. And now this refusal letter. My husband was denied a visitor visa in early 2016 because of concern about some documents. Now they're telling us he is admissible for 5 years, but I didn't realize that was the case when they sent us his visitor visa refusal letter.

The relevant part of his letter reads:

You applied at this office for a Temporary Resident Visa on 15 March 2016. After being offered a fair opportunity to respond to information that indicated you had misrepresented relevant information in your application, you were found to be inadmissible for misrepresentation under Paragraph A40(2)(a) of the Act on 26 April 2016.

As a result, you were rendered inadmissible to Canada for a period of five years from that date. Thus, you are inadmissible in any category until 16 June 2022 and your application is refused.​

A letter came to me also, along with a NOTICE OF APPEAL form. Relevant sections from the letter:

Subsection 63(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act allows a person who has filed in the prescribed
manner an application to sponsor a foreign national as a member of the family class to appeal to the
Immigration Appeal Board against a decision not to issue the foreign national a permanent resident visa.

If the Appeal Division finds that an applicant is not a member of the family class, and/or that the sponsor is not a
sponsor within the meaning of the Regulations, the Appeal Division will only have jurisdiction to consider the
appeal under subsections 67(1)(a) and (b), that read:

67(1) To allow an appeal, the Immigration Appeal Division must be satisfied that, at the time the appeal
is disposed of,
(a) the decision appealed is wrong in law or fact or mixed law and fact;
(b) a principle of natural justice has not been observed(…)

If you decide to appeal this decision, you may commence an appeal by completing and submitting a
Notice of Appeal to one of the addresses on the enclosure entitled Important Instructions.

You must attach a copy of this letter and a copy of the refusal letter with your Notice of Appeal. The completed
form and a copy of this letter must be received at the office responsible for the province where you live within 30
days from the date you receive this letter.

I am so so sorry! i cannot even begin to imagine the stress you must be going through right now. Please take heart, God is your strength.
