Work Permit extension

My friend have received the invitation to apply through express entry on November 15 but he only have his work permit untill November 24.
We are not sure what to do after this.

We are trying to get the ocuments together but does one need to have a valid work permit after receiving the invitation to complete the process?
Other thing is that we want to know how can we aplly to extend the work permit if need and what do we need to get the extenaion while the process of invitation is still not complete.

once u apply for EE and get AOR u can apply for bridging work permit. U will not be approved until u clear R10 check i think not sure
