The wait is painful but we all know it will be worth it if everything is approved. Just do what we gotta do to be with loved ones. To be honest I don't think any country is quick!

If possible, I'd suggest that you (anybody here) call them (if you are in canada and can get through), just to kindly ask whats going on and that you haven't heard from them in a while. I did this a few times, and the phone representative was very nice to me and helped me figure out if we were missing anything, or what was going on. "coincidentally", every time I called, things updated in GCKey :p
what's the phone number I can call? in the guide, there is no contact number.

The strategy that worked best for me was to call 1-888-242-2100 and then when you can start entering numbers to move around the menu you press 2 - 1 - 1 - 0, and that should get you to a person you can talk to (assuming they aren't over run with calls and it doesn't just boot you out). This only works if you are calling from inside Canada as far as I know.

I've found it best to call 10-15 minutes before they actually open too (8 AM EST I believe). That way you're waiting in the queue when they officially open and can talk to someone pretty quickly.

Yeah, for me it worked best when I called around 9:30 MB time for whatever reason.

Thanks everyone's reply.
i guess 9:30am, it's around their coffee break. in our office, after working the 1st hour in the morning, people start to get up and grab a fresh coffee

to whoever mailed application and haven't got any info yet

I called and just hung up the phone with CIC. they are handling the applications received on Sep27 now.
and the lady, sorry I didn't hear clearly her name, confirmed that she found my application, and it may take 2~3 weeks to send the letter to me.

anyway, at least, it makes me not that worried

You should post this in the September and October threads. Folks there may find this info useful and, like you said, make them less worried.
