Hi guys!
My name is David and I have been in Canada since march 2017. Since my visa is just a WHV, by march 2018 I have to leave the country.
The thing is I am working as a server in Toronto and my boss wants to sponsor me.
He justs needs to know what to do. So here is my question:
does someone know what does my boss have to do to sponsor me at my workplace so I can stay in Canada?
Thanks in Advance

Your boss needs to apply for and obtain an approved LMIA so that you can then apply for a closed work permit. This is a 4-6 month process with no guarantee of approval - so your boss should start now. He will need to advertise your job for a month to start to prove no Canadian could be found for the role.

Thanks for the answer but reading all the information on the website you just gave me it’s hard to know if a low-wage work as a server in the food industry you are able to apply within this program. And since I am allready working in Canada and with that employer I don’t know if there is any other way of doing it.

You need the approved LMIA if you want to extend your work permit - there's no other way. The fact you are already here and working in the role unfortunately doesn't change this. It do think it may be quite difficult for your employer to get an LMIA approved - it will be difficult to prove no Canadian could be hired for your role.
