Hello everyone
I submitted a sponsorship application to sponsor my wife since September 30 2016 cic requesting additional documents . My question is is it normal to request additional documents at this stage? Did anyone in the house receive a request to submit additional documents lately

This appears perfectly normal. August 2016 applicant. Requested for additional documents in August 2017 and nothing more from even after many follow ups,
I am just waiting patiently and hoping for progress by December as that is there target deadline,

Congratulations to all who have seen progress or are currently with their love ones .
Been following thread sporadically as my heart can take only so much.

It depends on what they ask you to submit or prove. Did they say you should prove genuineness of marriage your marriage or did they give you a specific thing to submit? Some of us here got specific thing to submit . Tell us what they asked you so we can help guide you. Every documents they ask for have their guidelines.

I know of someone who applied September 2016 and just like you was asked for additional documents this month. It is nothing to worry about. Depending on what additional documents was requested. It could be they need further clarification on something

Yeah February applicant here...nothing yet from new applicants at the moment..AVO (Accra visa office is still trying to clear the backlog of old apps from 2016) hopefully it becomes straightforward and fast the moment they start new applications...

I jus got an email this morning from AVO inviting me for an interview and should come along with the following items ( Original documents )

* marriage cert (if not already submitted)
*proof of communication I.e photos letters, email, phone bills ( if not already submitted)
*Historical identification such as school documents, birth certificate, previous passport etc (if not already submitted)
PLEASE NOTE
Bring this letter, any relevant supporting document and your passport with you when you appear for your interview.

We have already submitted all these docs to them both except the original marriage cert and my original school docs.
Please my people I need your advice on what exactly to do and what to expect from the interview.

Just bring all that they ask you for even if you already submitted , That was the exact same things they ask from my husband however go over the initial application u submitted if you kept a copy and revise the answers you wrote.@Becos will be a great help to you she was for me and my husband goodluck

Sorry you're getting an interview request after additional doc request. I think you should take all that they have asked for whether you previously submitted them or not. For proof of communication, you should include newer chats,emails, calls etc. Dont limit your self to those since they asked for any other relevant documents as well. Focus on quality of evidence not just the quantity. If you can,take notarized letters from parents and close relatives attesting to your relationship, official documents of items you own together or where you are listed as each others spouse or next of kin. Be as thorough as you can and review interview questions with your spouse making sure your answers correspond to your original application. Dont be scared, if you properly prepare yourself, the end of the journey will be here in no time.

There's nothing to be scared off, avo can be funny. U can still get most recent proof of communication alongside with the other two do cents u said u are yet to submit. Decision will be made on your interview day so go along with ur passport as requested.
