Hi, new to the forum here.

I have a question about the FBI security clearance, has anyone applied before receiving that certificate? Because , I am at school in the US now and by waiting I am actually losing days which will potential take me below the 1095 . I am seeing various estimates to get the FBI certificate. I am not a US citizen so cannot go through the channeler route.
You could apply for Canadian citizenship before receiving your FBI thing back, but I'm not going to. I'm going to wait until mine comes back (13wks today, & it's not back yet) before I send in my application package complete & altogether.

I need some help in understanding the work history.

I have worked full time for a company till 2016 and after that doing independent consultant for my own small business and moved to 3 different cities for 3 different clients.

In work history there is one option for self employment, here so I enter one row with my small business company name or enter 3 different client names ?

Personally, I would indicate self-employed during all that time - just because you didn't have an active client base did not mean you were not self-employed.

Hello All,

I have a Question regarding employment. I had some issue at my work place last year and i resigned. My Last day of work was 19th July. I found another steady job on September 23.
Between 19 July and 23rd Sept, to kill time, i did some factory work for 12 days. It was through 3 job agencies. I have T4 and all, but i dont remember the exact dates. Now i have to fill those on form. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi,

Though I'm qualified to apply now, I'm planning to apply in January 2018 along with my wife.

Can somebody please tell me what year should I mention for section 12 b) tax returns. should it be 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017? If yes, what should I select for 2017 as we wouldn't have filed our taxes for 2017 in January?

Thanks.

I would put 'Yes' and send a note. They may infer based on all your other info that you will be filing taxes for 2017 when the time comes but I would not count on it. Just advise them of your intent but based on timing, you haven't yet but you will when required. Senior members can advise further but first blush that's what I would do. They are going to check into that anyway plus they probably( we hope) also understand when T4's are usually released and how long the process takes because more likely than not the officer doing the form also files taxes.

You can not state the year 2017 as that will be processed through the year of 2018. So start from 2016.

Agreed. Just attach a note.

Well as always: I am not perfect and if the call centre people say to fill it one way, fill it that way.

But you don't need attendance letters etc. See document checklist.
Hi Spyfy
If i have lived at multiple home addresses during one job. What should i do which address should i enter ir creat multiple rows with same employer name for different home addresses. This will be duplication of the home address question.

Thank you. So what you are suggesting is to select "Yes" for required to file column and "No" for Taxes filed for the year 2017 and attach a note with it? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Except it says 'in respect to the taxation years that are fully or partially within the eligibility period'. Which 2017 would be by the time they file. So I would include it. Trust me, it can double or triple the length it takes if something is missing, especially since there already is confusion. For the taxation year, they will file but haven't yet. It really boils down to semantics and how the person doing it interprets it. @spyfy pls advise

Yes, though you have not filed YET, I would state that you fully intend on filing when you have the proper paperwork to do so.
