Passports to CPC Ottawa- Sep 2017

General idea:
4thOctober + 2 working days: 9th October: officer opens package
9th October + 2 weeks: 23rd October( +/- 1 or 2 days ): application approved.
They dispatch passports the next working day the application is approved. from there it depends on what option you chose for return label.

Has anyone had their return tracking activated today?

My application was updated to approved yesterday and got the email notification today (24 hours later) and I was hoping to also see the return tracking activated today but still nothing.

Delivered: September 26 or 27 (not sure since it was sent by my rep)

Hi,

I have same timeline. Application approved yesterday. Email today and tracker not yet activated.

Probably, you have missed the customs invoice documents or something in the return label(return label printed at fedex is a bundle of 5-8 pages, not just a single address page). Another applicant had this issue but CIC emailed the applicant to provide scan copies after which they mailed using fedex.
Sometimes, the package may get stuck for customs clearance in US, you need to contact fedex in this regard.

Please call CIC and ask them how your passports were shipped and do mention that fedex tracker did not get activated.

Thank for your response. I did send all the documents including airway bill. I had called the customer service today and she contradicted with what I heard yesterday. Today I was told that it appears the passports are not yet sent. This is adding to the confusion! But the explanation that she provided convinced me to believe that they were not sent yet. She said the return tracker is not active and also she couldn't see any status updates that say the passports are sent. So I am hoping for the best. Will keep the group updated what I hear back! All the best to me :)

Hi,
We got our application approved today. How long does it take for the return tracker to be activated on FedEx?
Moreover, on our online account, we have noticed something called Document: Counterfoil and Expiry date: 2018/08/10. Does anyone know what they mean? What is counterfoil? And is the expiry date the last date of landing in Canada?

Timelines and details:

2 applicants (My wife is primary).
CRS-474.
Indian Citizens, residing in USA.
ITA- 31 May, 2017
AOR- 29th August, 2017 (waited for FBI clearance).
PPR- 22nd September, 2017
Passports (original) sent via FedEx
Reached CPC Ottawa- 25th September, 2017 (According to FedEx tracking)
Online status changed to approved- 12th October, 2017.

That is the expiry date for your medicals, by which you have to do your landing using your COPR

Nice to know.
Just fyi, besides AWB, you also would need to have sent a customs declaration in the return envelope. It states the value of your courier and should be indicating courier travelling from Canada to USA.
It's ok if you missed it, because apparently a few pages back someone had explained that CIC asked for scanned copies as someone had missed it.

You case is very similar to mine. So, I will give my inputs.
I sent my passport on Sep 18 from Chicago, delivered on Sep 19, received acceptance email from CPC - Ottawa (After my inquiry) on Sep 21. Received alert from CIC on Oct 2. Same as you not message, application updated to approved. received response from CPC - Ottawa on Oct 3 that passport has been dispatched (after inquiry, they do not send e-mail if you don't ask). FedEx took 3 days to activate tracker. received passports on Oct 7. So, don't worry, it should all work out.

A couple of questions for you:
- what state and city did you ask fedex to deliver passport to
- what shipping type you used (international priority, or international ground)

Congrats! Are you single or family. My application delivered on 26th sept and we all are 5 including childrens. Is that the case for delay?
