Now the waiting game will start... some of the applications got DM in 7 or 8 months others are still waiting including me from July 2016. Even 2017 applicants from begin this year are still waiting for news... have patience don't think you will get DM anytime soon or maybe if your case has priority
Thanks for letting me know, so you'd say the Vienna office is a particularly slow one? The background check is our final thing to do, we've completed medical, had relationship approved, been approved for sponsorship etc. so i was hoping it wouldn't take too long from here!

Well hope that everyone gets a fast process but if you have time just scroll through the Vienna thread that way you will have a better idea about the whole process. I definitely don't want to discourage you but there are also ppl who had to do a remedical

March 23rd applicant here out of Vienna office. Got DM October 3rd as my husband's medical exam expires in a month so he needs to land before it expires apparently or we have to start all over. Luckily I think having an expiring medical exam helps speed up the process! Upfront medicals was a worthwhile gamble for us. His Online account went from we will let you know when BGC starts straight to DM. So a change to BGC in process online does not always happen. Took about 6 months. Cheers.

I'm still waiting for Medical request, I uploaded my PCC and Sched A back in mid July.

Please, which express post I use to send documents to Canada from Serbia?

I do not know specifically based on experience, but I can imagine that DHL could be reliable as couriers to get something to Canada from Serbia.

Hopefully someone with more local knowledge can also chime in.

If I do a check about sending something today from Belgrade, it should be in Mississauga by the October 12. It would cost RSD 5,333 for an express envelope. Whether or not this applies to you I don't know but the website can give you more information.

Again, I don't have any experience sending anything from Serbia, but I do have good experiences with DHL from other countries. You'll have to make the decision yourself, but this is a suggestion.

I know that we used UPS from Novi Sad, it took 3 days to get to Canada and cost rsd 2.400. They were reliable and the documents always got here quickly and safely.

Could you please tell me when did you get the message your application was being transferred to Vienna? Also, which country the person you are sponsoring is from? Thanks in advance, I'm in a similar situation (Vienna office - spouse application in March 2017).

Our file was transferred to Vienna on April 21st 2017. I am sponsoring my husband who's a Slovak citizen living in Holland.

Thank you for your answer. You mentioned the medical exams potentially becoming outdated, how did you figure about in your case? I'm worried the same might happen to us as we did not provide them upfront but rather in April when required by CIC.
