1. OINP nominations have picked up pace lately. 29/day between 8-Aug and 11-Sep vs. 16/day between 10-Jul and 8-Aug. With 988 nominations left as of 11-Sep, the target quota will get exhausted as of 15-Oct at the current pace of issuance. Anyhow, these folks go right to the top of the pool ...in the 601-1200 bucket.

2. Offsetting that increase is the 451-600 bucket, where the numbers have been in decline (2216 as on 22-June, 1180 as on 27-July, 570 as of 30-Aug). These would be mostly folks finishing their Bachelors or Masters in Canada and those completing an additional year of Canadian work ex. Since these have been declining for a few months, most of those new graduates must have already received the ITA and new additions will be fewer.

I think the increase in 601-1200 is offset by decrease in 441-600 bucket.

3. No IELTS results since the last draw means the addition to the 430-450 bucket should not be as many. In any case, this bucket has also been declining. From a peak of 2584 as of 6-Jul, it has fallen to 1140 as of 30-Aug. Given the most recent draw was 435, the bucket has further reduced.

This tells me that 430-450 will decline, while 451-1200 may be flat. So overall pool quality should fall since the last draw. If the ITAs issued stay the same, the CRS cutoff should come down a few points (maybe 431-432). If however, the ITAs reduce further, then CRS cutoff may stay flat or will rise.

Another interesting facet is that because OINP has been frozen to new applications, even if it reopens soon, those applicants wouldn't come into the pool until Dec or Jan when they receive their nominations. Therefore 600-1200 bucket should start to fall a lot from mid Oct onwards. And therefore scores should start to fall into the 420s from then on. This is assuming that 2018 targets are atleast on par with 2017 (300,000 landed PRs), which is what the Minister has also said.

And how those Asian investments are going to help you, if your landlord asks for a huge deposit as he/she finds you not a trusted person? Are you going to mention London and Manhattan?

Say it please.
Well, You referred Asians as remote so I gave you some information which I guess you did not consider, and for the deposits which you are calling huge; is in fact not a very significant amount for most of the people. Secondly, if you hire a real estate broker then everything is transparent and covered through legal contracts for which you will not pay such HUGE deposits.

And yes, if someone says that Asia is poor then I don't know what are other continents :p

You'll get your bearings once you land and scope out the area. Good luck to you and your husband. Hope you enjoy the adventure and begin new ones in Canada.
Thanks! I look forward to keeping in touch.

As I'm reading this, I can definitely see that we are spoiled, worrying about the length of a commute rather than affording a place to live at all. I need to take some of my "be tough" medicine, lol.

Be honest, many of the posters here do not even have those survival level 12k in their hands. Check out the POF threads, many gift deed related questions. If someone has never been to Canada, if they engage their entire family to come up with 12k, their likelihood of success in Canada is probably going to be lower. 12k is nothing in Ontario, those who've been there or have friends there know what I am talking about.

I am not trying to discourage anyone, just read to many "Canada disappointed me" posts recently. And I believe coming to Canada with survival level money, regardless of what authorities say, is one of the reasons.
Oh, I have been very honest to myself and to this group. Like I said, money isn't everything to be successful but your positive attitude will take you to a higher altitude.

And sorry to disappoint you if I can't read your thread as I am too busy in the ROH thread patting my friends' back. However, you can tell your friends to come to this thread so I can pat theirs too if Canada had disappointed them. :D

I am against such blind immigration, that's devaluating this beautiful country, and treating it as a milk cow.
Hilarious :D:D!! I wouldn't be surprised if you admit that you are just a teenager (mindset-wise), and never experienced the hardships that a person must in his/her lifetime. You absolutely dread hardships, misery and poverty, don't you? Always looking for greener pastures, aren't you?

What a pity!! I can't stop laughing, when you compare Canada to a milch cow, :D. Do some research, and you'll know that the third world is, in fact, the milch cow. It is from us that the marrow of life is sucked, and finally the residual garbage is hurled onto.

I just see Canada as far more interesting country.
Express entry is for Skilled Workers who can contribute to Canadian economy, and you clearly don't belong here. You just want an interesting place to live in, with your huge savings, in an interesting place where the poor immigrants guard you (as security-guards), serve you delicious food as waiters, get your iPad fixed as skilled technicians, and provide you with finely laundered clothes. Lol, a big lol :D.

I'm an American living in New York. As you might guess from my username, my initial reason for emigrating from here was because of our new president, but I have since realized that Canada would be best for my long term goals for other reasons as well.

And ... I see you are from Venezuela! I hope I'll get to meet you and practice Spanish with you in Canada as well! Have you decided where you want to live?
That's cool... I lived in the US for 8 years but I came back to Venezuela a couple of years back.. and the reason I'm emigrating is similar to yours ... I'm planning to land in Toronto, but I guess the final destination will depend on where I find a Job...

We all have our priorities and a shorter commute is definitely one of mine :) Hopefully you'll find accommodation that ticks all the boxes. Best of luck.

Guys, I'm still catching up on the posts here, but to all of you who might be discouraged about needing 6 Canadian dollar figures to settle in Canada and being relegated to working as poor day laborers, let me spread some hope. I have never lived in Canada, but I have lived in New York for over 8 years. As many of you might know, New York is reputed to be one of the most expensive cities in the world, with very high rents, more expensive than Canada, so I believe I have credibility to speak of saving money in expensive places. I have developed a system here that has enabled me to live more cheaply here than I did in smaller and less expensive US cities. It took some time for me to reach this point, but I started out renting a cheap room in an apartment with several roommates in a gentrifying neighborhood. I lived very frugally and eventually saved up enough to buy a couple properties, among other things, and no longer had to pay rent, which further cut my expenses and increased my income.

Where there's a will, there's a way, especially if you can be resourceful and think outside the box, and if you team up with optimistic and entrepreneurial ROH-ers!

Nowhere did I say that Asia was poor, just stated that all non-Americans are less trusted in Canada. Except you and your investments of course.
