Hi :)

Officialy it is not stated anywhere that the Medical exam has to be "fresh" before you apply. It only says that it has to be valid on the day of submission of your application.

However, I've seen a lot of people getting requests to undergo a medical exam again (already before landing), because it was expiring.
From what I see in your signature, you guys applied in April, so your husbands' medical exam was 6 months old on the day of submission, that's why there is a high possibility they might request him to do it again.

If I were you, I would suggest your husband does another medical exam now, and submits it with CSE, just to save time, because if they request it again, your application will be delayed for at least 3 more weeks, if not longer.

All the best :)
Hey! Thanks!! We used that one in May when we applied because we thought that being CEC inland we would get the ppr faster but we got caught up in the May batch that was slowed down :(

Hi,
Anyone here of May 25th AOR
My background status still showing we will send u message when we start your background check, its been a month after medical passed but no other update.
Only medical passed so far.
Any Advice seniors???
Hi,

I am May 23 and stuck in Background NA stage.

The Background check starts automatically 1-7 days after your Medical Passed, so the fact that your Background check in MyCic account is still shown as if they havent started it yet, is incorrect, especially if you passed your medical exam a month ago.

Since the update of the online system in February, you cannot rely much on what is written on your MyCic account, particularly for Background check.

Many times your account doesnt reflect at what stage your application is. For example, if you check signatures of other applicants, who recently got their PPRs, you will see that majority of them, didnt have any updates after "Medical passed" at all, and received PPRs while their Background check showed "Not applicable", "Not started" etc.

If you really want to know what is happening with your application, I'd suggest you send an e-mail to Ottawa CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca and inquire about the status of your application :)

Hi guys,
I got my AOR on 18 May..On june 28 i was allotted Uci and medical exam cleared...Now the status is as follows,
Application status : We are processing your application
Review of eligibility: we are reviewing whether you meet eligibility criteria.
Review of additional docs: Additional docs you provided are being reviewed
Background Check: not applicable
Interview: Not applicable at the moment
Biometrics: Not applicable
Final decision: Your application is in process.
and also i emailed ottawa office and they said my file is at LONDON VISA OFFICE. if anybody can guide me with the current status of my application process and how much more time will it need for final outcome or for the next step?.
I am FSW outlander
thanks alot
You are at a Pre-final stage of your application. If you were told that your file is at a local visa office already, then they either check if you meet the program requirements, or they go through your Security and Criminality.

Since you didnt receive any update for 2,5 months after passing the Medical exam, I believe you are already post the Eligibility check and are undergoing Security/Criminality check at this time. That's why PPR might be any day now, especially considering a recent increase in PPR emails for CEC applicants.

Please note that "we are reviewing whether you meet eligibility criteria." status might remain unchanged until they stamp your passport and make a final decision on your application, so dont rely too much on what's written on your account.

Chin up, you're almost there :)

Yeahhhhhh! Got my 'ready for visa' mail yesterday toooooo!!!!! Oh, what a relief
Thank you guys for sharing info and your timelines!
AOR May 1st
BOWP - paper based delivered on May 3rd
Medical passed June 7th
ADR - PCC (Hong Kong )
July 18th called CIC - PCC not delivered yet.
Around Aug 5th profile updated :
Additional Doc --> we are reviewing
BGC --> we are processing your application
No news about BOWP, so I called CIC Sept 7th automated machine said that they are checking eligibility, BGC not started yet.
Sept 10th BGC --> we are processing BGC

Now question: does this email allow me to work? Or I should land first?
Should I cancel my BOWP application or it will be done automatically by cic?
Thank you!
