Has anyone had the embassy request second police certificate? Ours will expire this September and we are debating whether we should order one now or wait and see if the embassy requests a new one.

Minosis, me and my wife are in the exact same situation. Police certificate expires in September and we don't know what to do. How long has your file been in process in Havana for? Ours started processing June 15th in Havana

I also just sent them an email asking for the confirmation of expiry for the medical exam and they replied February 2018 is the expiry date for the medical but no memtion of police certificate.

Ours started processing in Havana on May 24th and since then we've only heard from them once, when we got the medical request back in July. Since then we haven't even heard the results of the medical exam and our account says they are still reviewing those. I emailed too and they never answered. Since it takes so long to get the police check back we have been wondering if we should order it now so that we have it by the time the other one expires, but we don't want to spend the money if they aren't going to ask for it.

We are in the same boat with the PC. Plus my wife tells me that she can get the PC within 15 days somehow if we need it. Even though everyone says it takes up to 2 months to get it, she insists that we can get it within 15 days. Well we'll see. I just hope that either we get PPR before September or that Mississauga already completed the police check. I heard from many people that Mississauga has been doing that lately and it doesn't even show up in GC Key that it is completed until PPR is received.

Cause it took 6 weeks to get it last time we decide to ask a new one this week in case... I know someone that they ask to come to Havana from holguin just to ask a new one.... don't want to be in that position.... I wrote to the ambassy to know something and they didn't say anything so we decided to do it...

If you are called in for an interview and the police check is expired , they will not issue the visa untill they have an updated police check . Same if they issue a visa with police check . Canada recognizes police checks from cuba good for only 1 year from the date is was requested . It's your best bet to get you
Husband or wife to apply for a new one asap ! As the expiry date is fast approaching . Get them to scan and email it to you ( many free scan apps for cell phones ) or even take a photo , so you can send it to the embassy and state you will bring original copy to the interview or visa pick up appointment

I recently got married to a Cuban in July. I am unable to send our sponsorship application until December 2017. I was hoping to invite him (as my spouse) to visit Canada for a month BEFORE I even send my sponsorship application (i.e. before I'm accepted as a sponsor, and such).

Is this possible? Am I allowed to invite him as my spouse before I sponsor him? And is the outcome likely in my favor or will they assume I'm trying to bring him here to stay for good.

You can try it's 100$ and take one week but for my experience there's no chance... we have try a lot of time...

You will be denied a visitor's visa so why waste the $100

If another Police check is required it will be requested as you already know they are good for 1 year.
