Did you email them or is that from your notes?
That is from our MP office, they received the update as they are following up our application. Sad part is we haven't received anything from CIC yet . . .

thats super frustrating... have faith itll all come to an end soon... no news is good news?!?!

I found this very confusing as well when I first started the papers. You only need the documents for your spouse, and if you were also sponsoring children etc.
I'm told by someone else that my wife needs to provide birth certificate for her father mother brother and sister, all translated and certified in order to prove that is their family. I mean i'm not even sponsoring their family members. Don't understand why I need provide the whole family. Thats so much more work thats not needed. My wife's whole family going to be like "why, why, why"

I don't think it has changed in the new forms. What country? Maybe there is a specific requirement? We only submitted birth certificate, translation etc for my husband (he has no children). If he did have children we would have been required to submit their birth certificates as well. As for his parents and siblings, we filled out their general information on the additional family members form, but that is it.

Yeah I think by what everyone is telling me I can skip that part. My wife is from Venezuela. But I know someone that arrived to Canada from Venezuela and he didn't even have to go through that. All he gave was birth certificate translated and certified. My wife also doesn't have any children. So it should be simple nothing else complicated about it from what i'm thinking now ahaha. Just needed second opinions:p:oops:

I have a question to the forum members! what are the changes in the following?

My God!!!! we got news but not good . . .

eligibility for XXX pendng;

medical has been extended to July 31, 2018;

background check has not been done.

The Program Officer indicated the file should be reviewed again in October, therefore, if you have not received further communication from IRCC/CIC by approximately mid-October, please contact us again.

we sent the application OCt 14th.

Hopefully between now and mid October you will get PPR. I am still waiting to hear from our MP

Looks normal. If you order the notes you will probably see next review date set to October, but chances are it will be reviewed before.

Is that 'someone' really knowledgeable about the process? If it's not documented in official CIC documents don't do it. There is a lot of misconceptions floating around, just follow the official process.

I have the two times i sent an email. Once end of May and second time two days ago. I wanted to request GCMs notes but my lawyer said absolutely NOT. Notes should only be requested if there is a problem with application or you were denied. Or else you create red flags. So I'm stuck with that generic email that doesn't say anything!

Your lawyer does not sound like they know what they're talking about or just want to avoid extra work.

In our application we had more red flags than probably more than 95% of the applications here - applying through outland process while out of status in Canada and without even being married - applying under common law after living together for just a year.
Did not have a lawyer (maybe having a lawyer is a red flag :) ).
Requested notes 3 times and it does not look like it affected anything negatively, if anything it might've sped up things as application was processed in under 10 months. Did not have an interview either.

I have a question to the forum members! what are the changes in the following?
(GC Key My CIC Account: Background Check!) What are the different changes during your application in background check ?

My background check has been saying "In Progress" since Feb 22, 2017, when we linked the account and then it changed to "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information" when they changed the wording in the GCKey accounts in April, I think.

However, I think, at the beginning, one usually sees "We are processing your application. The next step is to conduct a background check". before they see the "We are processing your background check ...." message. Since we are not at the end of our processing here, I can only say that from what I read on the forum, it may change to "Not applicable", if I recall correctly. This might happen right before you get PPR, when they have completed all of your reviews. However, it seems that this is hit or miss and your status may not change at all, depending on whether those in charge of your file are diligent about updating your status on your account. If there are any other messages that anyone else knows about, let me know also!

BTW, our case is not usual, as I think it changes to "We are processing your background check ..." only after the app gets to the VO".
