Hi Pascal,

My status for Background check July 6, 2017: We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.

Do you have any idea how long will it take? I noticed your timeline after BGC you got your PPR in just a week. We already reached 6 months last July 17, 2017. I am worried.

Appreciate your opinion.

Thank you.
Hi malowpit, i just want to check about your Qatar PCC. When you landed in Doha, were you on a business or tourist visa then converted to RP? Do you mind if I pm you? Cos i have issue with my Qatar PCC since I came to Doha as business visa. Would appreciate your reply.thanks

No I don't mind, shoot me pm!

To answer your question and for the reference of fellow members here as well, since I came here I was under working visa so there was really no confusion in declaring the period on when I got my residence permit in Qatar. I believe that this is the point of reference from the government in declaring your actual duration of stay in this country. The moment I crossed the immigration desk at the airport that was the start or entry period written on my PCC. My case is pretty simple and straight forward.

On your case, it's a little tricky and confusing as you came here under visit/business visa which the ministry does not acknowledge that period in issuing PCC. They will always refer to the issue date of your RP. While your declaration on the application would say otherwise. And you'll have to mention that the period of your actual stay here is the very first day that you set your foot here on this soil like, Neil Armstrong did on the moon. (sorry i have to insert that) :D

The bad thing is that we cannot do anything about our PCC, it is the discretion of the government so we have to live with that.

My advice is to take advantage of enclosing LOE stating that from this period to that period, you are under visit visa and the govt here in Qatar does not include that duration in your PCC.

I hope this helps. Coincidentally, it's my anniversary today in Qatar, just sharing :D

I'm from Qatar as well, and faced the same situation for my wife. She first landed in visit visa and later converted to RP. I have mentioned the same in the LOE which was put last week via CSE, much later than I submitted my profile. Hopefully this is considered.

I do not see any reason why they shouldn't, since most members from Qatar underwent the same process, visit visa to RP. CIC must be aware with the policies of each country with regards to issuance of PCC. For us LOE is our insurance if all else fails at the same time to void any doubts on our part while sailing for the next 6 ++ months of misery. lol

Hi Folks and Dear Pascal,

I got a Request letter to submit "Supplementary Travel form" for the main applicant specifically stating my unique UCI.
But when I opened the form I see that there is a section to be filled by my spouse and my child as well.

Do you think I should only my part or include my spouse's and kid's travels too?

I'm waiting for you kind reply.

Thank you.
