Hi got an email that say "ready for visa". I would like to know how long does it normally take to get my passport back? I'm still connected with my current job and they need 30 days notice for resignation. And

Thank for your reply. What does IP1, IP2 and LVO mean? I'm sorry the abbreviations are still new to me.

LVO is my local visa office (Manila, Philippines), IP 1 and IP 2 are stages "in progress" during the background screening.

wow! i'm from PH too If it will only take 10 working days then I have to resign, asap

The advice is not to resign until you have the visa and COPR in your hand. I actually plan to stay on until the end of the year. Would still love to get that year-end bonus (sayang lang). I still have a good way to go before my medical expires so I would rather bulk up the settlement funds before I leave.

Did you use a representative/ agency or did you do it yourself?

I applied via agency but there is really no clear advice regarding the process, that's why I started to read forums because I was already getting anxious.

So our decision to go to Canada would depend on our medical exam?

Yes, you have to land with the medical exam still applicable (1 year from the date you took the physical exam).

My husband and I worked on our application ourselves. My good friend did the same. It's doable, but very time consuming... I don't mind, though as I am a bit of a control freak (and, as we say colloquially, oc-oc...)

I suggest you read https://pinoystocanada.wordpress.com/ for more guidance. It's a little old (2012, I think), but I can still relate to this gentleman's blog... and it's very helpful... his daughter even guest-blogged on bringing her pet to Canada.

Interview You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes. Help
Biometrics We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes. Help
Background check Your background check was completed. Help
Final decision Your application was approved. Check your messages below for details.

But there is no message below. Is this normal?
