Hello everyone.

I need suggestions please.

I am an Indian citizen living in the US. My one time PR entry visa is valid till January mid of next year. I'm planning to go to India in November and then enter Canada starting January of next year.

Do you think it is risky or could be an issue if I enter Canada do my landing as a PR just 10 days before my copr document expires? I know I'm sometimes paranoid for no reasons but still wanted to check :p

I don't want to enter Canada and then visit India while my pr card is under process to avoid any unnecessary problems thus wanting to visit home and come back in January and start new phase of life in Canada :).
That should not be a problem at all. Since you are in US you can very well land at the border and complete landing, get PRTD when you are ready to come to Canada while your PR card is processing.

Hello Guy's,

Please forgive me if this is not the correct thread to post the question about PPR.

I got a PPR yesterday and sent my passport this morning. Could you guys please let me know how long does it take the passport back as per the current trend. Or it will be a great help if you can direct me to the correct thread.

I am an Ontario PNP Inland applicant.

Thank you!

Hi,

How much does it cost to send it via VFS office?

If I am not wrong, this can help you get a mortgage, for example (as a permanent resident, the risk is lower - maybe you get a better rate) and there are some credit cards that you can only apply for if you are a permanent resident or a citizen.

My credit score remained the same after I became a PR last month.
Yes true, like one of the guys here said trust is stronger since you are a PR.

Agree I think credit score remains the same. But like you mentioned you get to apply for other credit facilities that a PR would have a better chance at.

I sent with Canada post which cost me around $30 including return express post.
You should get back in 3 weeks as per current trend and if your location is in GTA or Ontario

Hey Guys, I am still waiting for PPR but have a question about after landing and PR card. If I understand correctly it would take 1-3 month after landing to get the PR card. Can we leave the Canada and come back during this period? For example I might rent a place then go to my home country for a month ( I am currently in US so like to visit my own country as soon as possible) and then come back without PR? or should we get the PR first then get out of Canada?

Short answer is NO.
They give you CORP (confirmation of permanent residency) at the time of landing and with this document you cannot travel by air (technically you can, but you cannot enter Canada anymore to return). Across all document it's saying "Not valid for travel", but they are accepting it if you traveling by land.

So only one trick is probably can work if you fly back not to Canada, but to US (if you have US visa of course) and then travel to Canada by car with your CORP.

P.S. Why do you need to rent a place if you aren't planning live there for a month, do your landing when you are ready to live in Canada.

thanks I guess based on current trends I get my passport stamped by November. I was thinking to go to Canada and apply for my PR ASAP but since it will coincide with Dec-Jan holiday it would of been nice to go for a vacation after landing and while waiting for PR.
