No updates really. We redid medicals in April and since then nothing. Background check not started. I emailed in June to request an update and got a reply that " we are working on your file, please be patient". Ugh.

OMG i feel your pain, I really hope they contact you soon, have you sent PCC? Is really discouraging seen other applications stuck. I really hope that everybody gets a fast processing.

What's PCC?

They were sent in up front with our original application. That's what the guide told us to do for Guatemala.

I think that when the PCC are sent upfront, CIC takes longer to contact the applicant as no more documents are needed, they have mostly everything, so next when you hear from them will be passport request, (if interview is waived and no other applications is needed). Fingers crossed!!:)

Hi everyone,

I ordered my notes a month ago and the IRCC ATIP sent me a message o_O

Dear XXXX

This is further to your request under the Access to Information Act, which was received on June 14, 2017, for the following records:

the application, supporting documents and correspondences sent to and/or from IRCC for the permanent residence file concerning XXXXXX XXXXX

I wish to inform you that, in accordance with the Access to Information Act, an extension of 60 days beyond the statutory 30 day limit is necessary to process your request. This extension is required in order to undertake consultations that are necessary to comply with the request that cannot reasonably be completed within the original time limit.

I guess I have to wait another month to check the status of my application :(.

Hello, I would like us to work on a spreed sheet for anyone applying for PR, either from withing or outside Canada.

It would be really helpful if you decide to be part of it, even if your application has already been processed or its still being worked on. We are looking for applications that where sent to the Visa Office in Mexico, for example if you summit your application to Mississauga and then this was sent to the VO in Mexico.

Here is the link of the thread: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-im...imelines-updates-family-sponsor-sheet.506332/

Hey guys

Maybe someone can help me . I am currently in Lima and had to send my passport to Mexico for my PR stamp but the embassy is requesting for a return prepaid airway bill. DHL says they don't issue it but rather contact the embassy directly and then the embassy tells them the document Is ready then they go

Fed ex told me they can issue it to me but if I pay now it means the document is ready for pick up and I can't say it is ready because the embassy didn't tell me that.

Can someone please help out with which courier to use and does anyone know how long it takes them to get the passport back ?

Wow that sucks! I wonder if I will get the same email on Monday as I ordered my notes on June 17?!
Maybe they will surprise you and it will come sooner than the 60 day limit. I feel for you as I am in the same boat, trying to get some kind of news as I realize that my partner's background check has now actually been in progress for almost 5 months??! I so want to find out what the heck they have been doing all this time!

the best courier you can use is DHL, follow their intrctuions, I sent my passport from Argentina, and they received it in Mexico 48 hs later. I got my passport back with in 3 weeks, then when collecteing the passport I paid the airway bill they requested. So dont worry just send it!

Thank you for your response ! Did you sent the embassy a copy of the airway bill for them to return your documents ? DHL sent me a mail saying they had requested for the document but I was thinking the embassy needs a copy of the return airway bill?
