Hi there. I personally believe that there is no safe phase till our PPR. But chances of rejection due to missing documents etc. decreases (almost eliminated) after IP1 changes to NA i.e when your R10 check is done. Then during NA stage your eligibility, criminality are being checked, so if you are confident that you are a good citizen (which most of us are:D) and you have provided sufficient evidence of your eligibility, i.e work, education etc. you can consider yourself quite safe.
About the later question I have no idea what happens inside CIC offices, or how they function, all we can do is speculate and assume.

In my opinion it is not possible for them to employ so much man power to scrutinise reference letters in a manner as to understand what they mean in say professional terms for each and every profession out there if that is what you mean, but then I also believe that they have sufficient experience and access to professional analysis, if needed. They check everything very minutely, IMO, and have sufficient skill and experience to understand if something is fishy or missing no matter the technicality involved in the NOC of the applicant. They generally don't go to many lengths to verify information if they feel everything is in order, but once a doubt arises they can investigate as much, they have access to lots and lots of information at their hands.
P.S- This my personal understanding and opinion and is in no terms reflective of actual procedures, its my own assumption from my research.
Thanks mate. This is indeed a dedicated and professional explanation.
I worked in the head office a world-leading financial institution for more than three years (about 7 years ago). However, as the reference letter was issued several years ago, it listed my detailed duties rather than in accordance to the NOC description, or at least close to its definition. Therefore, I am always worrying about whether the case office would be able to or would like to classify me to the relevant group. As I do not have criminal record at all and very high quality education, this is the only thing that cause my concern.
Seems like there is nothing more than crossing fingers and waiting for the results. Good to have you in the forum and appreciate your kind answers!

yeah, I understand your worry, you are right all we can do is wait. But like I said they will get the gist of your duties and will be able to match, so don't worry, stay positive:) And keep us updating.
All the best to you:)

I work as a Storage Administrator .ie managing Storage Area Networks. I am not sure how many people really know about it. My duties somewhat match with 2281 NOC(Network technicians). There is no other NOC that even comes close to my job duties. I am also concerned about this but I have seen GCMS notes of some people saying that the case analyst performs web based search if he/she is not able to decide the NOC based on reference letters.

Yeah dude, same worry here.
Maybe you could post your duties and the NOC description, so that we could give you an objective opinion. I suppose case officer who is reviewing your docs does not have much idea about your role as we do. So we could pretend to be a case officer:p

I opened a thread, but no one relied me yet.

My AOR is April 23rd and I have yet to pass the medical. I'm FSW-O living in the United States. I have called CIC and both times I was told that it's under normal processing time so there is nothing to do.

I think it will take around 75 days for US residents to clear medicals. As of now eAPR with 14th April have cleared.
