Hey guys, question about proof of funds. Do I have to provide the proof of funds for just myself since i'll be the only one applying and have more than enough amount to sponsor myself, OR do I have to show sufficient funds for all of my family, who are not applying nor thinking to move to canada as of yet?

All replies will be much appreciated

The funds that you need to show is per the LICO depending on the number of people accompanying the main applicant.

SO that means i'll only be required to provide proof of funds from my own bank account and just for myself only. I appreciate your help

This is incorrect.

Even if one's spouse/children are non-accompanying OP would still have to show that he has the minimum required funds for all dependents.

What if parents are retired and dependents, will the applicant have to show funds for them too?

No.

IRCC defines dependents as: "A spouse, common-law partner or dependent child of a permanent resident or principal applicant."

Got it. I stand corrected.

Thanks for the update.

Hi guys,
While submitting POF, do we have to submit all account details like a credit card, home loan, term deposit, online saving account etc?
Or just the account where we got funds to show for last 6 months.

Dear Members,

For proof of funds, i have the LICO in my account, i would like to add my wife`s account balance. Do i need to get the same documents(i.e. bank reference letter & balance confirmation letter) for her as well , or No objection certificate with 6 months statement would be enough

Regards,
kenyk

Hi guys,
A quick question. I have enough funds for the application however my bank (Bank of Scotland) refused to provide me a proof of funds letter. As per the bank teller, they don't provide any letters at all, they can only provide bank statements. What should I do ? I have only one savings account which has my funds which I want to show in my application. Will the bank statements for past 6 months be sufficient ? Please advice :-)
