Yes, typically you include MP once there are some issues that you want rectified in your application or the timeline for processing has exceeded and you havent heard back from CIC. Once again, there is no point calling your MP. For your MP to work on your application, you need to sign forms in person including submitting copies of your appliation and you will have to sign a form indicating that your MP can act as a representative in your case.
Nope. You don't need to. All you need is a scan of a document making them legally eligible to speak on your behalf with a scan of your Canadian passport.

Hi all, I can't find the preferred combo of keys to press in order to get through to the IRCC call centre. Can someone remind me what has worked for them? Cheers!

There's always some unsupported criticism even if all you do is share your experience to help other applicants.

Being outside of Canada and trying to reach the call centre is bordering with a miracle. We called multiple times. Never got through to a person. Before receiving an application number, no one will even talk to you as you won't pass through a system verification.

MP replied to our email within a few hours and offered support throughout our application process. After her phone call we suddenly received a correspondence. So if you ask me, it works. MP never complained about us contacting them. They just asked for a document to fill out and scan back plus my partner's passport.

Are you the sponsor or the principal applicant? And if you are the sponsor, are you also the representative for your wife's application?

Ok, here is the thing.

Step 1: Get your wife's medicals done.
Step 2: You have mentioned that you are the sponsor. Your spouse has to wait for a notification in his/her Cic a/c for Schedule A. You need to give 5 business days after you receive your sponsor approval. In my sponsor approval letter, it was mentioned that my spouse will receive an email and notification in MYCIC account for schedule a + pcc + any other missing doc.

When your spouse gets the email, please login to see an actual notification in MyCIC a/c.
  • Under "View my submitted applications or profiles", Details will state "Your Action Required" and Messages will state "Unread"
  • When you click on "Check Status and Messages", there will be a request letter.
  • Also, to upload the files, you need to click on "View submitted application", and upload will be available for each document request.
Also, you need to submit the docs within 30 days from the day you receive the request letter in your MYCIC

If your spouse has received the email but the upload has not been enabled:

Step 1: Call CIC and report the technical issue. They will direct you to do Step 2. Please do step 2 only after calling and confirming with cic as they can resolve the upload issue.
Step 2 to send Schedule A + PCC to CIC:
Upload physically signed copy of Schedule A + PCC via IRCC Webform (one of my friends uploaded electronically signed, CIC asked them to upload a physically signed one)
Step 3: Send a physical copy to CPC-Mississauga (this is done as IRCC Webform has a huge backlog)

For sending the physical copy via courier:
1) Cover letter explaining the whole scenario
2) On the envelope - state the following:
Applicant Name
Application #
Family Class - Spouse Outside Canada
3) Mailing Address:
Case Processing Centre – Mississauga
2 Robert Speck Parkway, Suite 300
Mississauga, ON

Alhamdulillah, I just got AOR 1 for my spouse's application. I got worried as our application was delivered on 27th April and there was no update after that. I decided not to bother myself and them before at least 1 month.

From today morning i was anxious about the absence of any update. I went through the forum and saw couple of my fellow applicant received AOR and decided to call IRCC, but it refused transferred my call due to high volume of already waiting callers on the line. Tried few times, then decided to call tomorrow morning.

And then after few minutes i got AOR :)

If you read my posts, we tried calling multiple times. Always got hanged up on "due to high number of callers". Also submitted an online form enquiry. No reply other than an automatic reply with no answers to our questions. So yes, I was actually advised by another user on this forum to contact our MP.

Sorry, what does MP stand for?

I do not see any issue . I don't know what part of it you didn't understand ? Atleast they are contacting you some way or the other. Just keep giving them what they are asking . Apparently their computer system is going through tough times and alot of candidates here are experiencing similar problems. Be happy and keep posting how things are moving.

That's great! Add your info to the April spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kmGyZwXM7ehr7BxkucTyrY2DKST_XcC1yauhpAESnpk/edit#gid=0
