Yes it is abnormal but cic says tht 17 months is just an average it doesn't mean tht every single file will be processed in tht time. We have done everything and we are being told that our file is in security checks with CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Services) and that nothing can be done there

Oh ok so do only some files go through this ? The waiting time for u really sucks I hope they sort out things soon.

No every file has to go through this but if you have been in another country for more than 6 months then it takes them time to check everything regarding your stay in that country. Ya it sure does please keep us in your prayers

mines expired feb 2016 n they r not sending me anything i asked mp and shes like they wont ask until security is done or close to done

A question to the senior members: what do they mean by statutory verification? We got a reply that the file is undergoing statutory verification. Which part of the process is this step? Did anybody get the same reply?

Mine is expiring on June 9 . I talked to mp regarding it but NDVO said i have to do it again as its expiring soon.
