It can be either IP1 or IP2. It depends on your AOR & category (FSW or CEC). I don't know what you mentioned below from NA to IP1 is when your medical passed. If it is just the day or few days later medical pass then it is IP1. If after We are processing ... to NA has already happened before then this one is IP2.
Usually cycle for CEC goes like
NA - IP1/NBG - NA - IP2 - PPR
for FSW/PNP
NA - NBG -NA - IP - PPR

where - IP is " we are processing your background check"
NBG - " Next step is to conduct a background check"

I hope it helps !!

thank you for all your support till now, I have one simple question.. can someone answer me please...

all are talking about IP1 and IP2 for background status..
how do I know if mine is IP1 or IP2??
my status changed from Not Applicable --> "we are processing your background check. we will send you a message if we need more info"

your reply is much appreciated.!

Just received RPRF request... I imagine we have security check left at this point, since according to the letter it says "found eligible", and we've already passed medical. I imagine criminality is passed at this point, but CIC is pretty unpredictable. Anyone have any idea how long after RPRF request it usually takes to get PPR???

"This is in reference to your application for a permanent resident visa, which has been found eligible in the Class for which it was submitted. Admissibility review (security, criminality and/or medical) is still ongoing; you will be contacted if additional information is required for that purpose.

Before we can approve your application, we require payment of the Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF). You must pay this fee before a permanent resident visa can be issued. The RPRF must be paid once for yourself as a principal applicant and once for your accompanying spouse or common law partner, if applicable."

From what I have seen on the forum, lots of Feb FSWO got the request for it in late April and are still waiting for BG to turn to IP2.

On the plus side you know you have passed all things except security.

Cheers

Got a question here...
So when i first arrived Canada on temporary work permit. I worked at a place for a month before getting my current job which have spent 2 years on now..
However, on the Background history where you state what you have been doing for the last 10 years. I did not include the job so I just put unemployed for that period. Will that affect my application as I do not want to have to go and get a letter from them since I worked as a contract employee for just a month.

This information can be added to the personal history section, instead of the work history section. Any employment for which you are not claiming points should be added in personal history. Not sure if you can edit this after submission or not, anyone else have insight?

Haven't seen a NBG in the second stage after NA. Usually it is IP like " We are processing your backround check" after NA.

My BGS changed to NA yesterday and just now it changed back to "Next Step is to conduct BG Check". Does anyone know if I am in IP2 now? Thanks!

Hi Friends,

My Background changed from IP1( MAR) -->NA ( April 28)-->We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information. ( Today -May 19). Do you think its a good sign and when can I expect a PPR?

Would really appreciate feedback from peers.

Cheers!!!

Hey Mthornt,

Could we actually assume that at this point in time all reference letters from employers, diplomas, travel history and etc have already been reviewed and accepted?

Happy that something is moving for you! All the best on your Express Entry journey!
