Changing country or residence after AOR

Fellow members,

I have a question about the post-AOR process.
Last month I have received my AOR. But now I am in a situation where I might need to change my country of residence before PPR.
I know that any change of address or contact information has to be reported to IRCC through the CSE form. However, in my case, I'm not simply changing my address, I'm moving from my current country of residence back to my home country.
If I make this move, do I need to obtain a new set of police certificates? As you know, the police certificates must be issued after we leave each country of residence (with the exception of current country of residence, for which the PC must be issued within 6 months). So, if I change my country of residence, would it make my previously submitted police certificates invalid? Or does this requirement only applies to PC obtained before submitting e-APR?

Thanks. I would appreciate experts' advice on this.

I wanna know the answer to this too. As this could possibly be my plan. Also, Do I have to get another reference letter from my current employer indicating the last day of my employment instead of the "from (date started) up to present"?

Typically no. However, it is at their discretion to request updated documents/PCCs.

well you have to inform IRCC since your visa office would probably change... as you surmised you need a CSE form to be filled out.

and no - all documents are frozen at time of AOR, so once you receive AOR, everything is calculated on that date only... like say for eg your ielts is due to expire next month in april, and you already have AOR in jan, it doesnt mean you have to rewrite ielts...

ielts was valid when you got AOR In jan, thats all that counts.... same with PCC also.

you might need to however mention that your current job is ending and last date is xyz....
good luck.

Thanks for the heads up. I will make sure to notify IRCC about my address and employment changes. I hope that you're right and no new PCCs would be required. The PCC for country that I'm leaving (South Korea) is notoriously difficult to get in consulates and embassies overseas.

You can get on with your life and go wherever you want while your application is under process. Once you submit your eAPR, your application is frozen and you can inform CIC about your change in location via a CSE. Regarding police certificates, nothing can stop CIC from requesting it again. If you are leaving a country where getting a new PCC takes a long time, you are better off ordering a new one as soon as you leave. You only need a new PCC if CIC requests it after submitting eAPR.

Thanks. I will try to obtain a new PCC either way. It won't be easy though. You can't simply request PCC in South Korean consulates, like you could with PCCs from most other countries. Basically, I need to ask a friend in Korea to get it issued for me after I leave the country and then send it to me by mail. A lot could go wrong. That's why I'm glad to hear that IRCC may not request any additional PCCs if I leave Korea.

Yeah, it's entirely up to them. So you can hope for the best, but be alert.

Hi sir, I'm in same situation. I changed my country of residency after AOR. Did they ask for updated PCC?

Hello everyone,
It has been almost a year since this thread was opened, but now I am in the same position. I would appreciate if you can share what happened after? Or are there any other members who had the same issues along the way? Thanks in advance!

Hi, could you please help me with this question?
I got the "golden email?" and they are asking for my passport to be send within 15 days.

The only issue (maybe?) is that in my application I had US as my country of residence, but recently I moved to my home country in south America and I am residing here.
I read you guys say notify the ircc office, but.. How do I go about doing that? Just updating my application? (not sure of the website will let me)
Is there a phone or an email I should be aware of? How can I do this?

And if any of you guys know, will this have bad consequences?
Thank you in advance!

There won't be any bad consequences. A lot of people face this situation. You need to raise a cse with a request to change the VO. Also, send a mail with the same request. After changing the VO they will reset the timeline for you i.e. 15 days will be counted from that time.

Go through some month AOR threads and you will find people discussing about this.

Hi ,
I submitted my online work permit application with lmia from Australia..!
The average processing time was 5 weeks ..!
If I change my country of residence my processing time will go up depends on the country where I go ? Or it’s still same processing time
