Incorrect! All applicants and dependents MUST get PCCs for countries where they have stayed for 6 months or more (not necessarily in a row) SINCE THEY WERE 18 YEARS OLD.

I would like to ask you whether PCC, stating that there is no police / criminal case in the records of Embassy of India against so-and-so, issued by an Embassy of India located in a country other than India where currently applicant has been living for some years, is sufficient if not applying in India as not visiting there and passport is with the applicant which is needed in India to apply. However, the applicant has lived in India after the age of 18 for some years.

A PCC obtained from an Indian embassy abroad or PSK in India is enough for CIC. I believe both use the same database to check criminal records.

You can obtain the Indian PCC from the embassy in your current country of residence. The format of PCC issued by the Indian embassy is the same as that provided by Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) in India.

Yes you need the PCC from Germany. All applicants over 18 years need PCC for countries stayed in for more than 6 months cumulatively.

1. Generally, how many days does it take to get the PCC through PSK in India?

2. My spouse is the prime applicant and I am dependent/co-applicant. We are residing in a address, where we moved in September 2014. We have got the AADHAR card in January 2015. After that, we all - PA, Dependent and two children, have got the passport renewed in January 2016. Shall we initiate the PCC now, as our CRS is 421 or we can wait till we receive ITA (if the score drops later in the year or in coming year).

3. I was in Singapore for a period of 10 months from October 2000 to July 2001. Do I need a PCC from Singapore? If yes, how I can get it? Generally, PCC from singapore is only given to foreigners who are not residing any more only when there is an explicit request made by canadian IRCC. I went through their website - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/asia-pacific/singapore.asp#spec

Anyone, who can guide especially on bullet point # 3.

Yes you need the PCC from Germany. All applicants over 18 years need PCC for countries stayed in for more than 6 months cumulatively.

I have a US PCC issued in may 2015 and its been more than a year. I thought it would be valid
but after reading below instructions it seems PC is valid for one year.

I stayed in US for more than 6 months in 2008 and never went again. Based on below instructions do you think I have to apply again for US PCC?

I thought it would be valid -infinite- for foreign countries and with below instructions made me to think again...

Please help...

If this PCC was issued AFTER your departure from the US (meaning this PCC was issued AFTER you left the US and you never went back again), you can use this PCC. The less than 6 months PCC requirement is for your current country of residence alone.

If you live at the same address as in your PP, you would get it on the same day. The process takes around 2 - 3 hours max.

Suggest you to wait till you get your ITA. For CRS 421, the chances look grim now (The scores have not gone below 470 in a while).

Yes, you need a PCC from Singapore.

It is clearly mentioned what you need to do -

Yes, but only after you submit your application. When you apply for permanent residence, you will be asked to upload a police certificate. Instead, you must upload a document that states: “I am applying from a country that requires an official request letter from CIC to get a police certificate.”

CIC will then review your application. If it is otherwise complete, we will send you more information on how to get a police certificate. Please read the instructions above for more information.

Note: CIC will not accept police certificates sent by mail for Express Entry applications.

You have to write a LOE saying "I am applying from a country that requires an official request letter from CIC to get a police certificate." and upload this in the placeholder for Singapore PCC. IRCC will send send you instructions on how to proceed further.

Yes, what they have mentioned is correct. For instance, Indian PCC is typically valid for 1 year. However, whislt submitting the e-APR, the PCC (if India is the current country of residence), needs to be less than 6 months (because EE process typically takes 6 months).

Check this -

For the country you currently live in, the police certificate must be issued no more than six months before you apply.

For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country.
