Hi all! sorry if this question has been answered already, but I couldn't find anything on it using the search bar.

So I'm planning to apply for US outland PR by spouse (wife is Canadian). I got my medical in July 2015, but we've been delayed in applying for other reasons. Now that I'm about ready to apply, the exam is only good for another 4 months or so. Is that OK? Obviously the process will take longer than 4 months -- so do I need a newer medical exam, or will they accept the exam from 07/2015 so long as I apply before the exam expires?

On a related question: My FBI background check is about 3 months old -- I understand that they're good for 6 months now, can someone confirm? Is it also OK to send the FBI check I've got now, even though it'll expire during the waiting time?

Thanks!!

1. As long as your medical is less than 1 year old and your FBI is less than 6 months old, you are good to go.

They may ask you to do another medical later if it expires before they are ready to issue the COPR. They do have the option of extending it, so that is also a possibility.

Hi!!! In my opinion you should send the application and they can decide either extend or request new medicals
I will tell you my case:

Medical expired: Nov10, 2015
New Medicals Requested: Nov05, 2015
Medicals done: Nov09, 2015
PPR: Dec 22,2015

Good Luck

Hi saraotty!
Can I ask, when did you submit your application? Also, what's PPR -- I'm not yet completely familiar with the acronyms.
thanks!

PPR: Passport request

I am in the same situation.
So there are more chances of them asking for a new medicals than rejecting my application on the basis of expiring medicals correct?
