WES ECA - For Diploma + Engineering Graduates

Hi All,

Any one here who done the WES ECA having qualification as Diploma then Engineering (3 years) ? If yes, please let me know what is the outcome from WES and should we provide any specific docs to WES ? Please post your reply ASAP.

Diploma - 3 years Course (eg: Electronics & Communications)
Engineering - 4 years course but as i am diploma student got lateral entry (direct entry to 2nd year) so my engineering course duration is 3 years

My Question: Does anyone in the forum has got the evaluation done having above qualification with course duration ?
ie: after Diploma done engineering with 3 years (lateral entry to engineering)

My Question: Does WES understand what is Lateral Entry in engineering in india and does they consider my engineering as Degree ?

I believe WES would be in a position to understand your case as they would have had many such applicants in the past.
You can provide the transcripts for both Diploma and Degree along with the respective certificates for WES Evaluation.

My qualification matches exactly with you. I sent my degree for wes assesment and it is equivalent to 4 year bachelor degree. Now i am planning to send both diploma and degree so that i can get points for two degree or diploma

My qualification is exactly same as yours. I got the ECA done last year and the following is the outcome:
Diploma --> Canadian Equivalency: Secondary school diploma and diploma (two years)
B.Tech --> Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor's degree (four years)

It will be Bachelors degree with 2-3 years diploma.

If you have done diploma for 3 years and then received lateral entry to Engineering your equivalency will NOT be two or more degrees.

If you have done a post graduate diploma once you have completed your engineering then it may be possible to qualify under two or more degrees / certificate criteria (based on whether WES recognizes your diploma)

No, there is no requirement to send LOE. May I ask, why you would want to send LOE?

The summary of assessment shall be graduation 4 year canadian equivalancy. you can claim points for one degree only .

No, there is no requirement to send LOE. May I ask, why you would want to send LOE?

If you feel that it is important that it needs to be mentioned for your assessment, then you can send a Letter of Explanation stating your case. This letter should not be placed in he envelope(s) that you get from your university (it should be stamped and sealed), instead put it in the envelope in which you would be sending all the envelopes that you received from your university.

After that i made a request to them to update summary with both qualifications. So they updated it in two days as Diploma 2 years and Bachelors Degree four years. So now i am able to select two or more options without any hesitation.
