@ Tinu & ANigerian I dey hail you my people. I don land for the maple land. The journey was really smooth from the US. I engaged myself with their in-flight movies all through the 5.45hours. The sky was still blue as at 9pm when the plane landed at Calgary.

Going through immigration process was simple and brief. The officers were helpful and civil. In quick succession I was made to visit the immigration desk wherein i was made to sign the COPR document given to me by the CHC. I was advised that my PR card will arrive in 4-6weeks. The officer asked me how much fund was in my possession, and I told him. He was not interested in seeing the fund. He then advised me to keep the copy of the COPR that I signed earlier properly/securely as I will be needing it in 30years time when applying for my pension. Once done he welcomed me to Canada with a smile.

I then went to carousel to pick my luggage before proceeding to customs. I did not fill out the forms for "goods to follow" and "goods with me" prior to boarding the plane. When I got the lady officer she asked a few questions about good to follow to which I responded in the negative. She then gave me five business working days to submit same at their office close to the airport. I was then welcomed to Canada again. After that I was done with all the formalities at entry port.

Went to church on Sunday to thank The King of kings and The Lord of lords who has made all things beautiful in His own way and time. Met my 9ja bro & sis for that place and moi heart was joyful. The word for the day was "take that step of faith". How apt it was for my situation.

Monday has been a busy day. I went straight to obtain the social insurance number. Thereafter I went to register for the health card, I was given both numbers by the different offices and was advised that the cards will be in the post in 10 working days. From there I proceeded to open a bank account. I was given a bank card for my use though I have not yet applied for a credit card. Should do that sometime soon. I opened the account with CIBC in order to take advantage of their one year free fee for newcomers. To open the account I had to show the bank officer my passport, social insurance number (with my address) and the COPR document returned to me at the immigration desk.

I could not make a deposit into the account today because the exchange rates I was getting wasn't favourable at all. I shall search for a better bureau de change tomorrow. One word of advise do not change your US dollar at the airport, there rates are too low. Better to locate a place downtown.

Well after all the days business, I went for a beautiful naming ceremony. Nna chop full ground no be small. Jada no think say I don release you from our deal o. Sha pepper soup no dey ground.

The weather in Calgary is beautiful this time of the year am told by my host. Come July the thing go don change to some cold weather. Still na better place sha.

nice one bro all da best in that land.glad to hear that meesage title; 'take that step of faith', this is for all of us 9ja and others as long as u have faith in Him with whom nothing shall be impossible!!! we just have to move and overcome that inertia that is trying to hold us back, we gotta move,our children's peers will still immigrate to Canada and succeed,so nothing should stop us from moving,it's like a stream flowing at a speed,but cos so many people are at the banks and some are at the back,truth remains that not all of them at the bank actually want to get into that river of prosperity and plenty,some want to but are not ready,some are ready but are still looking back and some are actually in the river but just looking for an anchor to stop them where they are,and are not interested in moving further.my people, it's just about faith in Him who is able to do all things for those who believe in Him.

Hi people,
Who do i address the transcript for me and my wife? Better to collect it from your school in person if you can. The transcript for my spouse never arrived at CHC throughout the processing cycle. It was just the grace of God that got me the minimum mark. This our scholls can be inefficient sometimes. Can a police report be gotten in abuja? I would want to believe so. Go to the police headquarters for direction.
