No, there is no benefit to use an agent.
The only thing an agent can do is make sure you have all the documentation required. You still have to do all the legwork yourself.
Using an agent could actually prolong your application as visa officers would start to think you have something to hide.
There have been reports here about agents telling applicants to include fake documents and diplomas to up their chances of getting visa. If you follow the advice AND get caught, you are still the responsible person, not your agent. Your application would be rejected and you would have a hard time getting approved at all if you re-apply.
Save your money.
You have been accepted to a university. This means you are able to read, understand written instructions and write. So just head on over to www.cic.gc.ca and start reading. Read carefully and pay attention to what you read.

Need clarification on applying online for study permit
Guys Ive got accepted to MBA sep 14 intake at Memorial, NL. I applied on my own and got a confirmation in 15 days, they didn't ask for an IELTS score as my medium of instruction for B.E was English.
Now im thinking of applying online for the student permit, is it advisable to do it on my own? or should I approach VFS? Also im worried about IELTS, is it mandatory for a Visa? CIC does not reflect anything about IELTS being a prerequisite.
Would really appreciate if anyone here could help clarify these doubts.

There is no such thing that says you have to use an agent to apply for a visa. You can do it all on your own. If you need IELTS or not, depends on what the Canadian Embassy in YOUR country requires. Go to their website and check.

My name is Ranjeet singh .I am from punjab, india. Actually I applied directly at canadore college at Mississauga campus in computer system networking. Technician course for January 2020 intake and hopefully I have got my offer letter within 2 days .I want to start my further process by an agent but college has declined to give the agent authorization and said that you will have to apply directly for Study permit but they said that I can take help of any authorized agent to submit file in the embassy .Now I am puzzle that I should start further process or not?? Help me guys .
My study is 12th in non medical stream with 75% and ielts 6 each with overall 6 .
