Please I have to questions.
1. My RTD is less than 6month and i want to renew but i have a valid US visa on it. Should I send the RTD while sending the application because some people said they didn’t receive the old RTD with valid visa when they got the new RTD.
2. I don’t have the listed guarantor to sign so I will use notary. Can I still use the old declaration in Lieu form I have from the past or it’s has change?

My experience

I sent the application package with my old valid RTD and it has my valid US visa. Also, no guarantor so I filled the declaration form notarized and signed with all other details.

My application was received on Sep 22, 2026 and was updated in the IRCC system the next day Sep 23, 2026. I confirmed all this by calling the IRCC helpline. Also, they did confirm that the office received my request to return my old RTD with the renewed one as they see notes in the system by the process office.

They said my application is still under processing and I should call them later after few business days to check the status.

Will post here when I receive my RTD if the office chose to process it on time. Last time they took 8 months to send my RTD.
I hope this time with PR status and US visa they send it within the service standard time period (20 days)

Answer to your question

Yes you must send any valid RTD with the application package.

And You need to fill new declaration form with new application. You can't use the old form.

You don't need to write a letter. Just fill the form . Check which form do you have because there are two version. Use the newest.

Contact IRCC to get the newest updated form. I did call them and they sent me the form.

U should contact the Passport Program using the webform before submitting the application and specifically ask for the current RTD Statutory Declaration form.

You don't need to write a letter. Just fill the form . Check which form do you have because there are two version. Use the newest.

I called the passport office and they said the only way I can get the declaration form is to go through the web for option. Please how can I navigate to the web form
