Canada visit visa - August 2026

Anyone knows how long it takes for visa stamping at New Delhi IRCC??? I sent passport (used two way courier)on 22nd Sep and it reached IRCC on 25th Sep.

Creating a new thread for August 2026 Canada visit visa applications.

Here is my timeline;
Application submitted: 5th August 2026
Applicant: Mother (60+ year old)
Country: India
Medical: Not required.
Biometrics: Valid until 2029 May. She had previously visited Canada in 2019 for 3-4 months.
My status: Canadian Citizen

Application status shows as "Submitted"


Eligibility: we are reviewing your eligibility.

Background: its in process.Review of eligibility
We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.

Review of medical results
You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.

Review of additional documents
We do not need additional documents.

Interview
You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.

Biometrics

Got passport request on 21st Sep, sent passport via courier on 22nd and IRCC New Delhi received on 25th Sep. Now waiting

Plan for around a month but would not book travel until you have your stamped passport back.

Hi Folks, Posting my questions in this thread to seek your guidance as I need your suggestions (My status- PR since 2024)- I have applied for my mother's visitor visa along with my elder sister first time back in August 2024 but have got generic refusal for both. My mother is working in Central paramilitary police forces in India, and I am thinking how can I invite her as none of my family members has got a chance to visit here in Canada. Please suggest if I shall apply her 1) Visitor visa again or 2) Shall I directly apply her Super Visa?

>I am quite concerned if I shall include her department's NOC No Objection Certificate in the application, I have included that when we applied her application back in 2024 and it had duration of leave like "will be travelling from so and so date for the purpose of Visit to Canada" mentioned in the NOC letter.

> She will be taking voluntarily retirement next year and currently in process of the same process so shall I still go ahead with the Super Visa or should I wait till the retirement?

> For Super Visa, do I need to clarify how many months she can plan to visit initially as she is still working? Does it really have to be more 6months to meet the intent of the visa?

- If you meet the LICO for the Super Visa, I recommend applying for it for your mother. Just remember, if she is in a paramilitary force, the processing can take a long time, sometimes up to a year. You need to address the reasons for her previous refusal. You can update her employment information during the processing of the application.
- For your sister, submit a separate Visitor Visa application from your mother, making sure to address the reasons for her previous refusal.
