Seeking guidance about a legal pathway to Canada


Hello everyone,


I am currently in Somalia and I am looking for genuine information and guidance about possible legal ways to come to Canada.


I would like to know if there are any legitimate organizations, community groups, churches, or individuals in Canada who can guide me about sponsorship or other legal immigration pathways that I may be eligible for.


I am not asking anyone to send me money, and I do not want to use any illegal pathway. I am simply looking for genuine guidance and someone who can point me in the right direction.


If anyone has experience with helping someone from Somalia or knows a legitimate organization I can contact, I would really appreciate your advice.

For economic pathway research Express Entry. As a refugee if registered with UNHCR then most programs are paused indefinitely.

For Express Entry, you need ECA for education, language tests and skilled work experience to submit a profile. If not fluent in both official languages then almost no chance.

If you are Somali in Somalia your only option would be economic immigration. In general economic immigration is the easiest option to get to Canada. Even with family spearheading a private sponsorship from Canada the demand far exceeds the availability of spots and the wait time if you do get a chance to apply is easily 5+ years these days. Depending on your age and what level of schooling you have completed learning French or pursuing a field in demand in Canada is probably your best chance at being able to immigrate to Canada.

Would spend time on doing research about the various immigration programs although they can change. There are both provincial and federal programs. French language speakers should remain a priority group for immigration. With an ageing population things like healthcare jobs should also remain in demand. Due to Canada’s ageing population priority is given to younger immigrants. Maximizing your English as well as your French language scores will help you. Would watch out for scams promising you jobs or permits for a fee. It is possible to apply for most immigration programs on your own so you do not have to pay high fees to consultant or lawyers. Paying for advice or to review applications is still very worthwhile. I would just be cautious because there are big differences when it comes to what people charge and there are immigration consultants that operate outside of Canada who are not regulated. If you work with a lawyer or consultant I would work with someone who lives and is licensed in Canada.
