Did the complete medicals? When did they enter Canada as a visitor?

Hi All,

I submitted my application in July 2024,
Biometrics done in June 2025
Biometrics done in June 2025 and also shows the Biometrics number in the summary on top. In the details still shows (even though it was submitted)

And nothing after that. Have not even received the medical request yet. Should I request notes?

Pre-arrival is purely procedural and happens after eligibility and has nothing to do with processing timeline. You are still well within the posted processing time of around 3 years. There is a backlog of applications so people will need to be patient. Just being selected for PGP is already winning the lottery no matter how long it takes to process. Medicals are only valid for a year so IRCC tries to minimize how many times people have to repeat them.

Thanks @canuck78 for your feedback. I was confused about the Biometrics still saying, "We have not received your fingerprints. Check your biometrics request message below for details." even though summary shows the Biometric file number and expiry date.

No word from immigration since last Pal. Still waiting for medical request. Are there others in the same timeline and still waiting for medical request?

Asked to provide a updated travel history. When reading the form again, it says "List all trips that the dependent child has taken outside their country...". I remember when I filled out the form back in 2024, it says not needed for this part if the child is already a PR or citizen. Did the rule change? As the sponsor (child in this case), do I need to list my travel history even I'm a PR?

Sadly there are quirks in IRCC’s IT system. The fact that your file has moved forward means they do have biometrics.

Pre-arrival letters only mean you have passed eligibility and aren’t related to processing time. Some people get 2 for some reason. Medicals are often delayed because IRCC wants to limit how many times they have to be repeated. Posted processing times are around 3 years so well within normal processing. There will be very long periods of time where there is no movement in you application. Not unusual for there to be no movement for a full year. You are essentially in a long line and once you get closer to the front of the line things should start happening.
