quick question to anyone - i had recently called IRB to ask about my application since my lawyer wasn’t really following up and i got a call back informing me that they are waiting for my FESS from CBSA and that’s what’s taking a while. I was a bit confused since i wasn’t sure whether the background check from IRCC is what the csr was telling me about. anyways i was wondering could it be that me living in multiple countries is the reason why my application is taking so long ?
Personally, after following a chain of phone calls to the IRB and CBSA I learned that the background checks done by IRCC and CBSA are separate.
At least that's what I understood, as the person on the phone wasn't so confident in their response and I was transferred between quite a few CBSA workers before getting to one who knew what I was talking about, maybe there was a miscommunication error.
yeah i did figure that as well. seems the one from CBSA is what’s taking longer in general for most cases
I have received an email my claim is undertaken by ICAC regular hearing checked and no minister intervention
Will I receive a regular hearing or file review and how long does it takes to get a hearing date
7th June, 2024 - Arrived in Canada as a OWP(Working Holiday)
17th Jan, 2025 - Applied in Inland
20th Jan, 2025 - Information letter/Acknowledgement of claim and notice to return for interview/Medical Request
23th Jan, 2025 - Interview Call in
27th Jan, 2025 - Confirmation of Refferal
4th Feb, 2025 - RPD Checklist,Attended an interview,Biometrics
5th Feb, 2025 - passed the medical exam
29th July, 2025 - Background Check
1st Aug, 2025 - Disclosure Package-No Intervention
I don't have any updates from August 2025 yet even now 2026 June.

I also noticed that when I attempt to check my application status on the IRCC portal, it returns the message: 'We were not able to identify you using the information you provided.' I am not sure if this is a technical issue or something specific to my application type.
My questions:
For those with SAH-sponsored PSR applications — what was your timeline between sponsorship approval and your first contact from IRCC (biometrics/medical)?
Has anyone else experienced the 'unable to identify you' message on the portal? Were you able to resolve it?
Any experiences or insights are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

folks, does anyone know what it means when IRB says that the Minister’s notes are complete?
Previously, my file was stuck in FESS, but now they didn’t mention that anymore. I specifically asked whether the background check was complete, but they didn’t directly confirm that. Instead, they told me that my claim is ready for scheduling or decision and that we can write a letter to the IRB member to ask about the delay.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Does this usually mean the security/background check is done, or could it still be pending? IRCC portal is not updated and I don't have acess to mycase portal as we are self represented

Likely means that the minister has decided whether they want to intervene in your file or not. Background check should also be complete if you are ready for scheduling. There is a significant backlog with scheduling a hearing these days.
