I really dont know about it, Iam a Canadian citizen and I married to Indian on video call and its a Islamic marraige.

I have all the paper work and I my name is also in her passport as a Spouse.

Please, suggest me what should I do ?

Should I apply for visit visa and marry here again here?

Please guide me.

If I can go one day for marriage, is it ok ?

What should I collect for the proof of marriage? Could u please guide me?
Look at what you need for proof of marriage from India. Tell your partner to do some research. Then you will need to explain to IRCC the genuineness of the marriage since you did a proxy marriage (how long together, photos, lived together etc.).

Yes I understand. Ill arrange all the proof. Thank u soo much for your time.

Yes. No issue. It can be done. Just have to spend money, will do it as no other option.

Why no other option? Many people (including Canadian citizens) go to places like Bali (Indonesia) to get marry there.

You may actually need to get divorced to get remarried and have your in person marriage be recognized. As already mentioned time spent together in person is highly valued by IRCC when it comes to proof of being in a relationship/marriage.

Partner has to show own funds ($10kcash minimum), strong ties to return (business, job, income property) and strong travel history. She is single with no family ties and wanting to get married in Canada so yeah, it is difficult. She is pretty much not planning on leaving Canada.

To make it easy to get trv, do we have to apply after receiving of aor? Or after application of sponsorship submitted?

Since you are already legally married according to your religious marriage documents and your spouse’s passport shows you as the spouse, the next step depends on whether the marriage is recognized for immigration purposes and what country you are applying through.

A few things to consider:

  • Gather all your marriage documents, including the Islamic marriage certificate (Nikah Nama), registration documents (if available), spouse details on the passport, and proof that the marriage is genuine (photos, communication history, visits, etc.).
  • Before applying for a visitor visa just to marry again, it may be better to check whether your existing marriage can be accepted for a spouse sponsorship application or immigration process.
  • A second marriage ceremony may not solve the issue if the original marriage is already considered valid, and immigration authorities usually focus on the legal validity and genuineness of the relationship.
  • Requirements can vary depending on whether you are sponsoring your spouse to Canada or applying for another country’s visa.
It would help to know:

  1. Which country is your spouse currently living in?
  2. Are you trying to bring your spouse to Canada?
  3. Was the Islamic marriage registered with the local government, or is it only a religious ceremony?
With those details, someone can guide you more accurately.
