if you are claiming credit for days spent as visitor , in that case proof of burden lies with you and you need to provide additional proof. Days under study permit/work permit does not need additional documents.
Stop causing unnecessary stress.

IRCC will only ask this if their entry and leaving record does not match what is claimed by the applicant.

So IRCC and CBSA does not have the record of entering and leaving Canada? Why do they verify the data entered by the applicant with CBSA?

If you see most of the people who have issues with physical presence test claimed days u der visitor visa.

The likely issue is the fact that each day spent as a temporary resident (Study, Work or visitor) counts as half a day up to a maximum of 1 year towards citizenship and that is why you have the calculator. I've seen some people still submit knowing fully well that they don't have the required number of days as per IRCC calculator but they do as per actual days in Canada.

If the applicant is unsure, they can send a webform or call IRCC to ask if there's a new policy

By the way was their time as a visitor undocumented?

I don’t think issue is about half day vs full day , it’s more about IRCC not able to verify temporary status in visitor status

Was the person illegally in Canada? Like not extending visitors record after 6 months of stay? Or was here on implied status?

By the way, visitors record comes like study permit certificate because I have seen and handled both.
