Hi,
I am holding a french passeport. I lived in Canada for 4 years, and was a PR for the end of my journey. I went back to France for personal reasons. I am now planning to visit Canada this summer, for which I submitted an eTA request, which is still pending because I had to renounce my PR status. I did fulfill the document fairly quickly and have now been waiting for 2 weeks.

Any idea how long it can take ?

Apparently I my be able to do it faster crossing the border from the US ? And then submitting an eTA application right after ?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi all. Starting to panic, flying in 2 weeks. My husband and I both have expired PRs, he was asked during the ETA process to renounce his PR which he done online immediately so we are waiting. However I was not asked and am stressing, as I don't see any way I can voluntary do it without it taking a long time

PR doesn’t expire do you mean PR card? If so yes that could be a big problem. As a PR you aren’t entitled to an ETA. You either need to renounce your PR like your spouse or apply for a PRTD.

Hi, yes the PR card expired. We don't meet the criteria to renew.
My husband was sent the information to renounce his, I wasn't and my ETA was approved.

Doesn't seem like there is a way I can renounce without manually doing it

You are correct.
