Creating my Express Entry profile as primary applicant and stuck on my wife's work history. We want to keep the option open for her to become primary applicant later (she's learning French), so I'm being careful not to fragment her 3 years of continuous foreign experience.

**Me (Primary):** PGWP holder, Master's from Quebec, Cybersecurity Specialist (NOC 21220), 1 yr Canadian exp in Toronto, 0 foreign exp.

**Spouse:** On SOWP, no Canadian exp, ~3 yrs foreign work experience across 3 titles:
- Oct 2022 – Nov 2023: Associate Technology Specialist
- Dec 2023 – Jul 2025: Business Analyst I
- Aug 2025 – Nov 2025: Senior Specialist Technical Project Manager

Duties differ across roles, so likely 3 different NOCs(will need to look into official job duties). Her SOWP application already declared all 3 separately.

**Questions:**
1. Split into 3 NOCs or combine under one? Anyone been here?
2. Does splitting hurt CRS for foreign experience, or does total still count as long as each is TEER 0–3?
3. For category-based draws / PNPs needing X years in a specific NOC counted per-NOC or cumulative?
4. Best way to set this up now to preserve her future principal-applicant flexibility?
5. Among the job titles, which noc code will you recommend to enter for now?

  • Split the roles if the duties changed enough to match different NOCs. This is more accurate and reduces the risk of a NOC mismatch.
  • Combine them only if the duties remained substantially the same and all positions fall under the same NOC. In that case, one entry may be acceptable, with the promotion history explained in the reference letter.
  • For Express Entry CRS purposes, foreign skilled work experience can generally be accumulated across multiple NOCs as long as the work is eligible skilled experience (TEER 0–3).
  • For programs or categories that require experience in a specific occupation/NOC, the experience is typically evaluated within that occupation, so splitting by the correct NOC becomes important.
For documentation, it's often best if the employer's reference letter lists:

  • Each job title
  • Start and end dates for each role
  • Hours worked
  • Salary
  • Duties for each role
That way the work history aligns with the NOCs you claim.

If you tell me the three job titles and the main duties for each role, I can help identify the most appropriate NOC codes and whether any of them should be grouped together.

Talking about this question. Does answering here no count as misrepresentation in this case
