Background: We are Canadian Citizens here and would like to invite my wife's cousin from India to Canada through a visitor visa.
Questions:
1)Is it good that my wife makes this invitation letter as it is her direct cousin rather than me applying right?
2)We hear lot of rejections these days so how do we strengthen her visa position?
3)Is it good if she can show some good proof on her employment, income and intention to going back?

thanks in advance

1. It is your wife's cousin. Invitation letter is the least important document and cousin is not considered immediate nor extended family to IRCC.
2. Cousin show cash in the bank to fund visit. Usually $10k cash with 4 months of bank statements for 2-3 week visit.
3. If you say you are funding visit then shows cousin cannot afford to come. You can provide your bank statements but cousin is not considered a family member.

Cousin shows family ties to return (spouse/children), economic ties (job letter with approved leave, business, income property), funds, travel history with the invitation letter.

Thank you. So what exactly is the process now if she wants to visit here for 2-3 weeks? Should we not send some Invitation letter or no need at all and it is useless? In that case, should her Cousin just follow visit visa procedure from India regardless?

They focus more on WHY they have to return to their country versus on why they want to visit
IRCC knows they want to visit , but if they can’t show why they have to return, ties , it’ll be hard to get a visa

THEY have to show they can fund the trip , your funds are irrelevant

Your wife can write a letter of invitation with an itinerary of what cousin will do, and that cousin will stay with you. But the onus is on your cousin to prove that they will return. If cousin is from India and is single then chances of approval are low. So needs strong reasons to return because it isn't family and cash in the bank.
