Hi all, looking for advice from people in similar situations.

My mother (Indian citizen, Indian passport) visiting children in two countries:

- Jul–Jan 2025: Canada (6 months, left before status expired)
- Jan–Jul 2026: US (on valid B2 visa)
- Jul 2026: Planning to drive back to Canada (~4 months)
- Nov 2026: Return to India
- Early 2027: US again

Visa details:
- Canada: Multiple entry visitor visa issued 2025
- US: B2 valid until 2033
- No overstays, clean record

Questions:
1. Anyone done similar Canada→US→Canada rotation? Issues at CBSA land border?
2. Is 6-month gap in US sufficient or will CBSA flag as back-to-back?
3. What documents for smooth land border entry?
4. Sponsor (me) is Canadian citizen — apply Super Visa before July or use existing visitor visa?

Strong India ties — owns property, returns regularly.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

Is the vehicle (driving from US to Canada) US plated?

Is the first visit to Canada meant to say Jan2026? If so yes that can be an issue because she appears to be living between Canada and the US and only visiting India. If she does try entering Canada in July I would make sure she has proof of her flight in November. That may have an impact on entry. If she wants to spend a few months in the US and Canada a year I would suggest an equal amount in India as well.

You do realize that if either country feels that the person is abusing their visa privileges they can cancel that visa
It’s not too quasi live in each country

Yes Jan 2026. We are planning to go to India in July 2026 instead - Can she spend 3/4 months in India and then come back to Canada - since technically she would have been out of Canada since Jan 2026?

At the border, she should be ready to clearly answer simple and consistent.
* Why returning again, why staying several months? and When exactly leaving?
Regular visitor visa, no extra application needed & Faster
but
Each entry is discretionary & Pattern of long stays may raise concern
For apply for Super Visa
* Shows clear legitimate intent to stay long-term with family, Allows stays up to 5 years per entry & Reduces suspicion of “visa hopping.
Prepare the Medical insurance, Income threshold (you must qualify) and application time

Will it be better if she travels to India for a few months after US in July 2026 and then comes back to Canada around September/October 2026?

Short & sweet answer YES, that’s a safer and cleaner plan. Going back to India for a couple of months before re-entering Canada is a smart move

In general she should mot appear to be living in the US and Canada but visiting India. You do need a longterm plan because PR will be very difficult to secure for your parent and they need a plan in their home country or the US if possible. If you get sick you may also have to return home to get care if you can’t renew her supervisa insurance, a preexisting condition makes supervisa insurance partially useless because it won’t cover emergencies related to preexisting conditions, care is over going over 100k and you don’t have the savings to pay out of pocket, etc.
