AOR OR G Number inside Canada as Protected Person

Hi, I have applied for PR as a protected Person in Ontario.How long does it takes to get AOR after Submitting the application? I applied in Feb 2026 and its more than 2 months.

I applied march 2026 its almost 2 months for me , I called my lawyer yesterday to ask he inform me it takes 4 to 6 months for some people..

Ps: I have depends outside canada as well

Well you cannot tell yhe exact time frame. Some gets it within a couple of months and some gets it in 6-8 months.. i applied in first week of August,2025 and got AOR end of March of 2026.
Before you get AOR you get temporary application number(XG). Have you received your XG number yet?

When i look on my permanent resident portal its still saying submitted, is that how it show stay ??

PR portal is to submit PR application only. You will not get any futher updates on PR portal. You will get the updates on GCKey(create an account if you do not have one) account but you have to link your PR application. In order to link you PR application you have to have application number(G number).
You will receive you temporary application number in 2-4 months(in average).

Having applied through a lawyer will not influence anything when it comes to processing time.

Trust me I know that..

I just use my lawyer because I hate too much extra work and my kids are outside canada..
If anything he can break it down in simple form for me and tell me where to put what information .
Simple !

Ps: I'm a full-time employee at my job plus running a small business tired most of the time .
