Visitor visa expiring because of passport

Hello,

My mother's visitor visa is expiring. Initially she was issued with visitor visa for 7 years only as her passport was expiring in 2026.
Now that she got her new Indian passport, how should I proceed? Will there be a brand new application or there is a separate process for it?
She lives in India and I need to apply on behalf of her. Do I have to create a portal in her name and create a new application?

Yeah this is one of those annoying IRCC quirks, the visa is tied to the passport, so once she gets a new passport you can’t just “transfer” it. You’ll need a brand new visitor visa application, no shortcut here. Create or use an account and apply again in her name, you can still manage it yourself if you add yourself as representative. Good news is you don’t start from zero concept wise, just reuse most of the same info, just update passport details. Lots of people hit this when passports expire early, totally normal, just annoying paperwork lol.
