HI, Any one with Below Time line. its for my mother in Quebec. We applied under H and C

Medical Request Jan 2026 and Submitted

Waiting for CSQ request to MIFI . If any one knows when can i expect CSQ invitation?

And it moves VERY slowly if you put in a different month

Least the Government is being transparent. People are now aware it’ll be close to a decade

Transparent to a point. The big unknown is what will actually happen to H&C after bill c-12 because the program is no longer functional. Anyone without PR is at risk in my opinion.

H&C I think was meant for rare situations, not the way it’s being used today

Just one important update, when I checked ircc they mentioned it's sent to mifi on 21 Jan. When I checked, I found that worst is over if application is referred to mifi as delay is with ircc sending to mifi.

There is still a long delay because there is a large backlog of H&C applicants waiting to land. There isn’t an unlimited quota for H&Cs getting PR. Also we gave no idea what is going to happen to the H&C program.

No I called MIFI and they told me that yoy will get invitation in 2 weeks time.

This application is for my mother. We are already canadian citizens. Also my son is special need which requires constant atte nation. Not sure if that changes any thing but my MP told me that that it does

Invitation doesn’t mean PR will be imminent and she shouldn’t be getting faster processing than others who all supposedly have H&C reasons and this is not a life or death situation for her. MPs know very little about the specifics of immigration programs. Neither does whoever answered the phone at MIFI. There are backlogs for H&C programs inside and outside Quebec while both gave cut their quota for these programs.

I understand. But I still want to stay positive hope everyone gets it's faster. Will keep updating here if I hear anything from MIFI

Given we have only seen cuts to general H&C quotas and we haven’t seen what will happen to H&C after bill c-12 would be expecting processing in years not months. Don’t see Canada inside or outside Quebec raising their general H&C quota anytime soon. I would expect significant reforms to this program in the next few months because it hasn’t been a functional program in quite some time. Stay positive but also be realistic. You likely won’t be able to get an estimate about processing time given how recent the application was transferred and we don’t know what will happen to applications who have received AIP if the program is culled and restarted with much more strict conditions. There seems to be a general consensus by immigration professionals that there is no other way to deal with this program at this point because it is such a mess but we’ll need to see what happens after bill c-12 since the government is clearly waiting for it to pass.
